Ek Nayi Ummeed Roshni' is a medical drama premiered from 13th July, 2015 on Life OK. The show is about Roshni (Pooja Gaur), a medical student in London who overcomes various obstacles in order to pursue her dream of becoming a cardiac surgeon. The show is a medical drama with a heart. The show exposes the audience to the dynamic world of medical care and brings out the emotions and hard decisions which doctors have to deal with in their everyday lives. The show's cast is star studded. Besides Pooja Gaur, it also has veteran actors like Amol Palekar, Divya Seth Shah, Raghuveer Yadav and many more.

Pooja Gaur: Pooja Gaur plays the lead role of Dr. Roshni in the show who aspires to become a successful cardiac surgeon and is a firm believer of human values and for her the life of her patient is of utmost priority and the hospital rules and protocols are secondary aspects. Born in Ahmedabad, Pooja made her debut on the small screen in NDTV Imagine's Kitni Mohabbat Hai' as Purvi in 2008. She was also seen in Star Plus' Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya' where she played the lead role of Pratigya in 2009. Pooja has also participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi' Season 5 and hosts Savdhaan India' on Life OK

Amol Palekar: The show marks a comeback of legendary actor Amol Palekar to the small screen after about a decade. This versatile actor and a legendary director and filmmaker, has contributed a lot to the Hindi and Marathi cinema. His most popular work has been of portraying the role of Ram Prasad Sharma/Lakshman Prasad Sharma in the 1980 movie Golmaal' and his directorial venture Paheli' starring Shahrukh Khan in 2005. He also worked in the TV industry and last worked in Zee TV's show Kareena Kareena' in 2004. Amol Palekar will be seen as Dr.Amar Kishore Singh, who is Roshni's grandfather and a renowned doctor who stands for all that is right in this noble profession, which is Roshni's inspiration for being the compassionate doctor that she is.

Raghubir Yadav: The veteran actor Raghubir Yadav will also be seen in Ek Nayi Ummeed Roshni' playing the role of Badri, who is Amol Palekar's childhood friend and will be the support system of the show. This brilliant actor is also a theatre actor, music composer, a singer and set designer. Yadav started his TV career with the TV show Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne' in 1990 playing the lead character Mungerilal'. Later he played the roles of Haji Nasrudding in the series Mulla Nasiruddin' and the lead in Chacha Chaudhary'. Raghubir will return on small screen after a long time with this show.

Sahil Anand: Sahil plays the male lead, Dr.Nikhil in Ek Nayi Ummeed Roshni'. He is a gold medalist and focused in life. Dr.Nikhil though balances his life well; he is fun and flirty too. Actor Sahil Anand came into limelight with his stint in season 4 of MTV Roadies. And he soon made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year', in which he played Jeet. The actor recently made his debut as a lead with Babloo Happy Hai'.

Divya Seth: Divya Seth is a popular name in the Indian TV. It is about decades ago when Divya carved a special corner in the hearts of viewers by playing the role of Majli in the first Indian TV soap Hum Log'. We have also seen her in the cult TV show Dekh Bhai Dekh' where she played the role of Priya. Divya would be seen playing the role of Dr. Vasundhara Singh, who is a gynaecologist. It is still speculated what her role would be and can be seen in the upcoming episodes ! (Stay tuned on this space for more news). Divya is the daughter of legendary actress Sushma Seth.

Rahul Vohra: Rahul plays a very important character in Ek Nayi Ummeed Roshni'. Dr. Roshni looks upto him and wants to do a fellowship under him. She gets a chance to impress him but messes up big time. Rahul Vohra is a popular name in the television and film industry. He has worked in numerous Bollywood movies like Monsoon Wedding', Swades' and Bheja Fry'. In 2014, he was conferred with the French Honor in Arts: Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for his contribution and work in French theatre.
