I honestly think CabIni could have worked well. So what if Cabir is Manik's friend?, why cant he have developed genuine affection for Nandini independent of Manik?

My best guy friend was dating a girl I knew through another friend and when they broke up I never white-washed the mistakes my friend did nor did I stop being friends with either of them.

Oh their confusion with themselves be absolute bliss!! Gotta love all the times where one asks the other for an answer and they get caught in the moment and go totally mute after a "because" ...

I wish they could sit together and reminisce about their old days

Could have worked but for that they needed to explore CabIni beyond MaNan relationship. It sort of became pretty one flow thing , with only Cabir angling Nandu about Manik. Nothing beyond that convo . Cabir and Manik had that banter which should/could have been developed with Nandini , if they let both Cabir and her talk to each other on other things. Cabir was living with Manik most of the time, roomed around college with fab5. Also that time Abhimanyu was playing friends with Nandini. Also boy had his Momma drama. Also they used Cabir for Navya

I see Alya, Mukti and Navya wasted in their arc when girl bonding should have been explored. But the show never went there. Ever.
