Na sena se, na haathi se
Na kisi veer ki baati se
Rajtilak hoga mera
Dahrti ki is paavan maati se.

The Emperor of Emperors. The man who's referred to as Devnmpriya, "The Beloved of Gods", and Priyadarin, "He who regards everyone with affection". Amidst the tens of thousands of names of monarchs that crowd the columns of history, their majesties and graciousnesses and serenities and royal highnesses and the like, he shines, and shines, almost alone, a star."

"His is...Chakravartin Ashok Samrat."

Welcome to the Appreciation Thread of the Emperor of Emperors, Samrat Ashok and the very talented actor Siddharth Nigam.

When the Mahajanpada of Magadha was being pushed to the brink of oblivion Aacharya Chanakya and Samraat Chandragupta Maurya laid the foundation of Mauryan Empire. A few years into it and everything seemingly was under control. But mutiny and unrest again rose its ugly head, and fate chose it warrior in that young lad that grew up to be the greatest Lord of the soil, whose tale history narrates gloating in pride.

The Nanda rule was overthrown by extreme efforts of Aacharya Chanakya and Samraat Chandragupta. Thereafter the establishment and nurturing of the kingdom took painful efforts and time. For a few decades to come, stability and justice prevailed. But soon they were washed over in the tide of unrest and injustice. Samraat Bindusara couldn't lay much hold to the empire and slowly and surely the curse of oblivion began marking the empire with its filthy claws. There was an immediate need of an Emperor who would put an end to this ever growing tide of gripping fear. And it was only then when fate had chosen its mighty warrior.

When Rani Dharma bore a son, the prophecy foretold of his greatness and his unmatched valor that history would repeat for ages to come. This prophecy was made true when the lion king made his first roar and pulled people out of their shok only to be aptly named as Asoka. His valor and intellect and murderously accurate vision made him the ultimate symbol of respect and pride among the people of Magadha. And from here began the journey of the greatest emperor that ever lived.

Asoka during his teens began showing his cruel facet in warfare. He was both thunderous and dangerous in his approach. The tiring perpetual revolts of Ujjain were put to rest under his capable hands. The southern part of the peninsula surrendered to his might and Magadha rose on the pedestal of Akhand Saamrajya.

He is said to be fierce in his demeanor, he emancipated both fear and pride in his stride, strength and compassion in his heart and fury and rage in those orbs. His reputation grew in leaps and bounds as the most able general that the land of Magadha ever produced.

When Asoka became a father he set his eyes on the Mauryan throne and decided to pull the string of the empire with his own hands. He murdered his brothers, ravaged the kingdom of Kalinga, cheated on his Agramasi Devi and burnt alive his second wife Padmavati. The man who was a few years back lauded as the able general was now feared as the Chand Asoka. One whose anger and rage knew no bounds. His growing narcissism and primal urge for power began destroying his very sanity. This is when his soul struck him hard and he transformed into the man that was Devapriya.

When the hatred washes over the compassion in the heart, destruction is bound to follow. And building a ravaged land is no easy task, but Asoka rose to this ultimate challenge as well. He renounced his brutal ways and followed the Madhya Maarg that preached Dharma, Ahimsa and Nyay He build his empire as a tolerant land for all religion, sect, caste and profession. He made Patliputra the world's first cosmopolitan city, gave people a right to dignified living, created a hemisphere of prosperity and above all made people prone to the biggest religion of humanity.

An emperor such as himself has never made his appearance again and can never make an appearance again. He is rightly been called "Samraaton ka Samraat"

Rules

1. The word "Appreciate" in itself means to have a highly favorable opinion of someone or something. You are supposed to appraise the value of the work of the actors and express them in positive light. A thread where all the fans of the Actor/Characters gather to discuss what they liked.

2. In an essence Constructive criticism/Positive Outlook towards Actors/Characters, must prevail in these threads.

3. Members must understand that, discussions are restricted in ATs.  ATs are safe zones for the Actor/s fans to exchange information without being subject to negativity. You have the main forum to present opinions which calls for discussions and debates. All discussions related to actor's performance, looks, style and personality can be confined to  ATs  and keep the discussion of story tracks restricted to just the character and his/her scenes with other characters. Please refrain from analyzing and discussing scenes which are not directly/indirectly related to the actor/character of this AT , in particular when they imply stating negative opinions. However we do  allow minimum chatting in ATs, provided it is related to this AT alone.

4. Please refrain from bringing and discussing other general topics of the main forum into  the AT. If you find anything offending in the main forum, report it with crisp and clear notes, without bringing them to the ATs.

5. Please refrain from any negative/bashful/insulting comments against any actor/character/member/DT. If members of an AT are caught discussing other actors/characters/fan groups/DT negatively, then AT will be held liable for it and may be subject to warnings & eventual closure/Ban as follows.

6. Admins/Monitors of the AT (Those who are opening the AT will be called the Admins/Monitors) will report  the troublemakers or problematic members of the AT to the DT  in a timely manner, so that the AT/other genuine fans are not penalized for it. Here the Admins have a big responsibility and so we believe them to be totally unbiased as the whole responsibility of a AT is on them.

7. Lastly - When an AT reaches 150 pages, hit the report button and add this "AT reached 150 Pages", the DT will close it as we can not have two ATs open at the same time.
