(For vena.cava. Her write ups were the push i needed to join this forum as a real member)
if she had turned around and said a single word, it would have changed the world.
Why?
if vidushi had been thinking rationally, she would have demanded, asked to know what kind of god forsaken miracle had made him love her. what had made him fall for her, if her smiles, her concern, her love hadn't.
if she hadn't pointed out the fallacies herself, if she had forced him to think, then maybe it would have been more effective. she wouldn't have to lift a finger and he would have turned to ashes. but she striked the match and burned them both down, letting him fan the flames.
Why?
why did he love her?
why did he have to admit it now, when life seemed like it was tossing her a chance, a do over? a clean slate, as if all her pain had ever maimed her.
but then, parth who had claimed he would never love her, he was a wild card in her story, he hadn't been there before, he hadn't.
he refused to let go of her.
his answers hadn't mattered to her, what she could see was red.
he said love but she heard obsession
he said love but she heard control.
power games, lies, possession, stick figure, furniture, puppet.
she didn't know which way to go.
or maybe she did.
if she had asked herself a single question.
Why?
why hadn't she tried to move to stop parth from hitting varun?
why had her heart twisted when varun had hit parth?
Why?
she avoided questions she knew the answers to.
she closed her eyes and assumed the world couldn't see her.
but he could.
Why?
because he was as stubborn as she was.
clingy and determined as she was.
she knew, yet she choose not to see.
Why?
it took him a long time to decide what he wanted, he was a prudent man, but once he knew what he wanted, there was no room for civility, show or doubt.
Why?
Because he loved her.
And that was it.
