Mugdha's big break came when she was selected to play the role of Rajkumari Sanyogita in the very popular series Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan. She was very excited when she bagged the role of Sanyogita since she was short-listed among the three girls who auditioned for that role. She was very happy to have gotten the role in a historic series since it has a lot of importance and the love story of Prithviraj and Sanyogita is one in a million. She played the role with much dedication and sincerity that even today, people always remember her as Sanyogita.
After her role as Rajkumari Sanyogita ended, she went ahead to play the role of Shera. Shera is a dacoit whose only job is to threaten people, rob them and fill her father's treasury. But she has a heart of gold. Her life changes when she is assigned to kill Rajkumar Dharam. She meets his brother Veer and starts to fall in love with him. She disguises herself as a Rajkumari named Ananya and changes herself and her ways. Even after Veer leaves her after knowing her identity, she helps Veer in all ways possible. This was one of the most challenging roles for Mugdha since she had to ride a horse, fight and wield a sword. The character of Shera is a complete contrast to that of Rajkumari Sanyogita..
Her next role was on the Colors show Meri Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari as Chandni. Chandni was a gift to her family who had a line of male successors.. Her gradfather wanted a grand-daughter from his expecting Daughter-in-law. Hence Chandni was born to her family. She was the apple of everyone's eyes. Having lost her mother at a very young age, she had the responsibility of sustaining her mentally disturbed father on her shoulders. She falls in love with Rajveer a sweet and charming guy but gets married to another named Paramjeet under a few circumstances.. In then end, true love wins. Paramjeet's truth is discovered and Rajveer and Chandni get married..
She next ventured into the role of Aarthi Jhaveri in the show Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo. This shoe generally tells about the situations that arise from the small lie that the protogonist of the show tells his Boss. Mugdha played the role of Aarthi with much enthusiasm and dedication. She had told in an interview that comedy was a very serious business and that she enjoyed playing the role of Aarthi.
She took a sabbatical from acting inorder to persue her higher studies. After a break of an year and a half, she came back with a full-fledged role as Aarushi in the show Satrangi Sasural. The story of Satrangi Sasural revolves around a guy with seven mother.. Seven different mothers who are searching for the perfect daughter-in-law for them and a perfect wife for their son. Aarushi plays a sweet, strong and responsible girl who works in a bank and earns a meagre salary. She is the sole bread-winner of her family. Her family consists of a drunkard father, a step-mother, grandfather and a drunkard brother.
