Zindagi Gulzar Hai Breaks All Records in India

By Marya Shuja on July 16, 2014

Zindagi Gulzar Hai zee zindagi

Pakistani drama serial Zindagi Gulzar Hai' broke all the records in India. The drama that is being aired on Zindagi Channel has become one of the most talked about show of the town.

Starring the most talented actress Sanam Saeed and ever good looking Fawad Afzal Khan, Zindagi Gulzar Hai' depicts the story of a self made girl named Kashaf, who face hardships in her life, while Zaroon, comes from a rich family and is a carefree guy. The drama is based on Umera Ahemd's novel of the same name, talks about the equality of child rights.

Saman Saeed, who is best known for portraying woman-oriented roles on Television, had a telephonic conversation with IANS in which she said "India uses Bollywood, rather cinema, to tell its stories. It is one of the largest filmmaking nations in the world and so your talents get to tell stories about politics, love and drama through films. In Pakistan, our medium is the small screen. We don't make many films, and hardly have theatres. A majority of people seek entertainment while sitting at home and TV gives it to them, so we excel on that part."

Pakistani dramas are high on content and quality and are much liked by Indian audiences. It is because of the new channel "Zindagi - Jodey Dilon Ko" which has taken an initiative to show Pakistani content across the border. The other shows which are lined up to be aired on Zindagi Channel includes "Aunn Zara", "Kash Main Teri Beti Na Hoti", "Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain".

I'm very happy that a whole generation and maybe even more is getting to watch a complete story in a locally familiar language, in set ups which are so familiar to us, as against the soaps that dominates our serials.
The nice thing is that for the 1st time, our people are seeing heartfelt stories (sitting in their homes), from Pakistan, which has people who live/believe/react just like us. Its a huge step from that point of view, to know that at the end of the day there are people who live on both sides of the border, and all these people have emotions like love, anger, humor, etc etc. I hope this will reduce the animosity in the long run, as now there is more to watch and appreciate, than just read news which often gives only one part of the story.
I'm also waiting to watch the serials from other countries that are in the pipeline.

The show deserves all the applause that its getting
Is so nice and different from the junk that we are served on other channels. A wholesome family entertainment is what it is
I can safely watch it with my teenage son and he loves it too
The fact that the setup and feelings depicted in this is so relevant for indian scenario makes it all the more worth watching
I have watched a few Pakistani serials in 90's so I was pretty sure that this will be good. But my son is pleasantly surprised to see this.
It may sound a bit over but I feel so connected to people of Pakistan after watching these serials. The life and problems of people are same in both countries.

The show is absolutely great...class apart...and deserves the adulations👏

on a wholesome basis and not just romance...its a good show...the story of kashaf and zaroon - and all the interlinked tracks around them and parallel tracks - including even depiction of hammad's equation as a brother with shameela...is done so well👏
every conversation is worth watching...worth pondering over⭐️

It's a good thing, no? That they don't care about TRPs. I am really happy that they are following the HUM Tv route and can only hope that other Indian channels do the same.
