'There has to be some kind of mistake. PKC might be mean and rude but he can't do this'
Thoughts were racing in his head, fast and frantic. Closed doors. Envelopes and dust. Crushed photos.
And then, a muffled sound. A yelp
It was curiosity that made him push the door open.
She was sitting down, her back to him. Hitting a smallish beat up radio.
"Come on. You have to play this song" she pushed the button and strings of melody escaped from the old device. The sound was cracking and it was only after she hit the radio lightly that he understood what was going on.
This was her Tai Chi.
Her escape.
And he was intruding.
He looked at her through the gap in the door.
She got up, stretching a bit. She pulled her hair up
She was wearing really skimpy clothing. Just a sports bra and some slinky black mini. He forced his eyes away, scolding himself for his inappropriate thoughts. She was not...
Then, the vocals began.
'Closed off from love
I didn't need the pain'
She let her body do the talking. Her movements were forced and her body was stiff. He couldn't see her face but he had a feeling that she looked just like her movements. Painful.
'Once or twice was enough
And it was all in vain
Time starts to pass
Before you know it you're frozen'
She stopped moving, her lithe body in a graceful pose, her bare arms raised to the ground.
'But something happened
For the very first time with you'
And then, it all changed.
It was just her. And the music.
Her body moved effortlessly, twisting and twirling.
'My heart melts into the ground
Found something true'
She went down on the ground, her eyes unfocused but her face serene. She looked like a woman. Not a vicious, vindictive and selfish girl. A woman.
'And everyone's looking round
Thinking I'm going crazy'
She arched her neck. He could see her exposed neck and he turned away. This was wrong. People would talk. This was unhealthy.
'But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you'
"I'm sorry" her hoarse whisper made him look back at her.
Sorry? What for? To whom? Why now?
Another pile added to his never ending list of unanswered questions.
'They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth'
The truth?
What was her truth?
Who was she anyway?
The vindictive bitch?
Or the expressive woman?
'My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing'
Her movements went back to robotic ones. Stiff and forced. Depressed.
Her eyes were shut tightly. Her body was down on the floor again, her back to him. The cut of her mini revealing her back. Soft skin. His hand gripped the door tight.
'You cut me open and I'
She was on the floor again, her legs folded under her. Her hand over her heart. Looking like someone had stabbed her.
'Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open'
"I hate it. I hate how you talk to me. " a ragged whisper escaped her shaking form as she got up, her hands clenching in anger.
" I hate myself more " her leg was up in the air, alluring and threatning.
'Trying hard not to hear
But they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears
Try to fill me with doubt'
She looked like she was in pain again, dancing with her hands covering her ears, her body betraying her feelings.
Pain. Sorrow. Anguish.
Her movements. Her eyes that looked like she was in some distant land.
'Yet I know that the goal
Is to keep me from falling'
"I'm already too late. I'm down. There is no saving me now " A sob wrecked her body.
He looked at her intently. She was lost. He couldn't save her. She was beyond redemption. He slowly pushed the door open and softly sneaked in behind her.
'But nothing's greater than the rush that comes with your embrace'
She hugged herself, frozen in her longing.
He couldn't take it anymore.
He pulled her back into his chest, his arms wrapped around her waist. Tightly. He ran his hand lightly over her bare stomach. Feeling her this way was doing things to him. Things he should not feel. Or do. Or say.
"Happy now? " he whispered, his tone hot and dark, making her shiver nervously.
'And in this world of loneliness
I see your face'
She turned around to see his eyes. Need and desire in them. For her.
'Yet everyone around me
Thinks that I'm going crazy, maybe, maybe'
They were separated by inches.
But in reality, there was a void between them.
He could never accept her.
Want her. Crave her. Taunt her.
Never possess her.
'But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you'
She pulled her eyes away. She was stupid really. He wasn't going to ever understand her. Care about her. Respect her.
'They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth'
"The truth. Come on, tell me." He gently bit her earlobe, making her squeal.
'My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing'
He moved his hands gently caressing her back. Feeling her soft skin and her anxiety. Her emotions intoxicated him. Drugged him. And made him forget his pain.
He drowned his sorrows by throwing insults at her.
She always took it with her head held high.
Never showing him the pain she hid inside.
'You cut me open and I'
His hands traced a path down her back.
She went still.
'Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love'
His anger.
'I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love'
His ignorance.
'Keep bleeding'
The words that hurt her ears.
'Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open'
"Dance with me" his husky voice shook her to her core.
He never gave her a chance.
'And it's draining all of me
Oh they find it hard to believe
I'll be wearing these scars
For everyone to see'
Bodies pressed together. He was making her sway gently with him.
His eyes glaring into hers.
Asking her to bleed again.
'I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you'
"I can't keep my mind off you." he admitted, his frustration seeping out of him like sweat.
'They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth'
" And you can't give me what I need either" her tone was emotionless.
'My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I'
"Vidushi..." he mummbled, pulling her as close as he could.
'Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love'
She was slipping away from him.
'I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding'
Like Sand through his fist.
'Keep, keep bleeding love'
"You are wrong. Wrong. Wrong." She whispered, turning to leave.
'You cut me open and I'
"Don't go. Vidushi don't you dare leave me alone! " he roared loudly.
'Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding'
She stopped dancing and turned around, wide eyed and filled with fear.
'I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love'
He stood at the door, desperation in those eyes of his.
'You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding'
"What are you...doing here? How long were you here." she demanded, trying to sound firm and unaffected.
'Keep, keep bleeding love'
"It doesn't matter. What or How long or why I was here. I am here." Parth admitted.
"It's easy for you to say" she scoffed.
Words meant nothing.
"It's not easy for me to feel" she walked out of the room, leaving him alone.
She was done bleeding
