I agree with the falling standards of content as well as acting now a days. We 80s and 90s viewers actually don't deserve this.

We had such bold shows even in the afternoon slot, Be it Shanti, Swabhimaan, or Junoon. excellent concepts. No special 11 PM slot for bold themes. And guess what this didn't spoil us.😆

The characters were so well-etched, bold and beautifully portrayed by the actors. Even the looks of the characters were subtle, no garishness. No loud make up and no Nautanki chhaap jewelry. They were so real.

Today's shows how much ever they try to spend fortunes on costumes, sets and jewelry, they cannot match the content and simplicity of yesteryear's.

Glad to see so many members from that Era. Big Hug !!🤗

The ensemble cast of that show was superb. The best countdown show of that times. Later they changed it to anchoring and it gored bored.

Anyone remembers here Ariel Mr. Gold show hosted by Anupam Kher??😳

Then we had Mrunal Kulkarni and Kartka Rane in 'The Great Maratha' - that was a good one. 😊

It also had Utkarsha Naik as Anandibai in a Vamp role. She is one hell of an actress.

Sakshi Tanwar, Divyanka Tripathi are not 90s faces but 2000s.

Though the best TV actresses of 90s have to be Renuka Shahane, Neena Gupta, Mandira Bedi, Rupa Ganguly, Smita Jaykar.

But if you talk of looks then the best for me were -

Simone Singh

Niki Aneja

Juhi Parmar (beautiful in Shaheen and Choodiyan)

Manasi Salvi (she was known for Aashirwaad and Love stories, innocent looking beauty. Currently she plays Adi's mom in Pyar ka dard hai on SP)

Mrinal Kulkarni (I loved her way more than Saavi in Hasratein, she played Saavi's boss' wife in that serial, she is the face of Vicco cream and toothpaste)

Sonam Malhotra (mostly seen in Zee TV shows like Love Stories, Waaris and later played Renuka Shahane's Muslim friend in Kora Kaagaz on Star Plus)

Varsha Usgaonkar (she did couple of movies also. Mostly did Doordarshan serials. I remember her from Jhansi Ki Rani on DD1)

Kavita Kapoor (she played the other woman in Saans)

Krutika Desai ( Sabya in Chandrakanta)

Shikha Swaroop (stunning princess in title role of Chandrakanta)

Durga Jasraj (she played Rani Kalavati in Chandrakanta and also anchored Antakshri on Zee TV with Annu Kapoor)

Swaroop Sampat (Yeh Jo hai Zindagi, All the best)

Smita Jayakar was also beautiful when she was young.

Gracy Singh was the most beautiful of all sisters in Amanat.

I liked Rakhi Tandon too, no matter how OTT she was in Hum Paanch and other serials!😆

Tisca Chopra...I am unable to like her because her role in that useless film Platform still haunts me.

Kitu Gidwani is classy and hot but I was kind of scared of her...I mean she looked like a strict school teacher to me in childhood whenever I watched her!😆 I was glad when she was replaced in Shaktimaan.😛

Yes the girl in Ek se badhkar ek was cute. She had such a happy aura...I did not like seeing in a show like Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye.

Anita Kulkarni, the woman who now plays Choti ma in Balika Vadhu, did a lot of serials in 90s and was in Shanti also. She used to look pretty when she was younger back then. She still looks good, infact her features look better than heroines of the serials she works in.

Niki Aneja did lot of shows in 90s. She vanished after Astitva probably due to less roles for older women...

I also liked the girl who played teenaged Radha in Ramanand Sagar's Sri Krishna.

I feel if there is one serial that alone had lot of beautiful women (as well as handsome men!) in its cast, it was Chandrakanta. Purely for the kind of team, talent and gloss they brought out on a channel like Doordarshan in early 90s, this serial was a mega serial! Shikha Swaroop was drop dead gorgeous. ⭐️ I resented when story focused less on her and veered to other characters.

That was a show I enjoyed. And watched it every Sunday.

Kroor Singh and his two chamchas were funny 😆

I was so upset when the Show ended 😆😲
