Mahabharat Written Update 7th April 14~Draupadi seek answers~

Draupadi asked questions to Dritarastra about the torture Hastinapur kulvadhu had to face. She reminded him that she entered Hastinapur as Kulvadhu who was equivalent to goddess lakshmi. None of the elders answered her and her husbands stood mumb. Next she asked Bhishma that how could he keep quiet. Then he asked Dronacharya who was like a father figure. She accused Dritarastra for indulging his son when he said a dasi (house-help) has to listen to his master. Draupadi was shocked to her the word Dasi from his mouth. She questioned Dritarastra that when Yudhisthira lost in the game he lost his right on her then and there so how could he still bet her in the game?

Duryodhana asked Draupadi to ask her husband why she was treated like that. Draupadi asked yudhisthira whether like bet his own brothers he bet his wife just like that? Yudhisthira agreed that he did bet her and as a family he did have all the rights to bet her. Answer of which she told a wife is the better half of a husband and she cannot be generalized with the family tag. A family feels sad when someone dies but a wife only becomes a widow. She wanted answers imidiately.

She next asked Vidhur who was known as nitiwan and naywan...whether in his kingdom a property which belongs to someone whether his brothers have equal right on them or not. Vidur told her that if that person gives right to his brother then yes.

She asked that when a wife by default has the right over each and everything that belongs to her husband then why did not samrat Yudhisthira took her approval on everything before betting them off.

Sakuni told her that when she did not stop her husband from betting before the match started then it was automatically taken as her approval in whatever her husbands wanted to do with the money and property. She was hurt and said was it her mistake to trust her husbands she said looking at her husbands who stood mumb.

She asked her beloved husband Arjun whether her husband yudhisthira took permission from him before placing her as bet in the game? Everyone kept quite unable to answer her. She further asked whether everyone make her a dasi from their better half? They all promised to take care of her and protect her when they got married in front of the sacred fire. She further told them that only for them so that they don't have to take sanyas she took the whole trouble on her and got married to five of them.

Arjun folded his hand in front of her and said they never go against their elder brother and Yudhisthira was bound to obey Duryodhana.

Draupadi was almost drained now, shadding her tears and told Arjuna that they only respected the dharma.

She questioned whether Dharma gives order to abuse woman if every person in the shabha is bound by dharma. What was her fault that she was dragged like that in the shabha and that everyone thought about their Dharma but none thought about her feelings, her emotions and her respect.

Duryodhona said that her husbands are not man enough to respect her. She asked Draupadi to come to him and have relationship with him. He said he will get happiness and she will get protection. Other than fuming her husbands couldnot do anything.  He called her and asked her to sit on his lap. Bhima promised duryodhana that he should give him the worst death one could ever have. He shall break his lap.  Arjuna promised everyone that until he kills everyone and smashes in dirt he would mix that same dirt in his food for indefinate period so that he remembers everyone he have that he was not a human but an insect.

Duryodhana asked draupadi not to waste anytime any more and come to him.

Draupadi called him a stupid man she was born from fire and no one had any control over fire. He cannot make her a slave because she refuses to become one. With that she held the dise broad and tossed it.. Draupadi took her step to walk out of the shabha when Dritarastra asked Draupadi to stop when Duryodhana complained to him that in his shaba a dasi is leaving without obeying her master. He ordered her to obey her master's words. Bhishma pleaded to Dritarastra to let her go. Vidhur too warned him not to agree in what Duryodhana was saying because one day this would be the end of Kuruvansha.

Dritarastra refused to hear and that draupadi cannot be an exception because it might lead to other slaves to hold riot.

Duryodhana asked Draupadi to come back to him. But she didn't listen to her. He ordered to de-cloth her just like she took all their weapons in front of everyone in Indraprasta. Dritarastra was shocked hearing it.

Arjuna was furious and warned duryodhana the final time to stay within his limits. He took a chuck of plaster of paris and switched all the lamps off present in the shaba. He promised Dritarastra that just like he made sure all the lights were off in the shaba he would make sure to doom his entire life.

Precap : Draupadi challenged dussassana to come and show this strength to her and folded her hands closing her eyes.
