Part 7

CHAPTER 8 :

"I shouldn't have had that dream in the first place,its making me soo uneasy now"I spoke to myself.I tried to calm my breathing by keeping my hand on my chest and rubbing the surface but when my eyes fell on the table-clock near by, my heartbeat started rising again.I panicked and I got off the couch as fast as I can.It was already 6 p.m ,Vikram and Neha would be here by an hour and I had soo much work to do.I went to the kitchen and started preparing the other dishes,I was sweating hard.

I checked on the drinks,the dishes and the other arrangement for the last time.This is the first time I am inviting my friends home and I needed everything to be perfect.I wanted this night to be special.

After almost 45 minutes ,I heard Pihu's bedroom door open.I saw Peehu making her way out of the room, rubbing her eyes and yawning at the same time.Her eyes had got chinky as she tried to get a clearer vision infront of her.

"Papa..I am hungry..." she said making her way towards the kitchen.I had no time to make anything for Pihu ,I carried her and made her sit on the kitchen counter.

"Baby..will the morning pancake do?I actually have no time,Vikram uncle and Neha aunty might be here anytime.."

"okay papa.." she flashed me a smile still rubbing her eyes.

I handed her a glass of juice and a pancake and gave a peck on her forehead before heading towards the kitchen area again.After a while again I turned to glance at Pihu , she was still half way to her pancake, just then I heard my phone ring,it was on the couch,I hurriedly went to the living area to grab my phone and received the call.

"Yes Vikram" I said trying to calm my breathing.

He told me that they might be an hour late for the dinner.Well,I was cool with it.I told him to take their time and then later after exchanging some more words we hung the call.I breathed in relief . That means I still had an hour left.I slowly made my way to where Pihu was seated and then I realized I havn't seen Priya.

"Princess where is Priya aunty??"

Priya's POV :

My eyes felt heavy and I could hardly open them, but I could hear some faint noises around.I opened my eyes and found myself in a complete different environment.It took me sometime to realize that I was in Pihu's room.I turned to look at Pihu but she was not there.I heard the noise again it was coming out from the living room.

I slowly approach towards the door and opening it, I saw the cutest view ever. Ram was tying up Pihu's hair. She was moving a way too much and I could see Ram getting irritable.I stood there smiling and enjoying the view.

"Priya aunty!!!" I heard Pihu calling my name.Ram turned to look at me and flashed me a bright smile.I smiled back at him and approach towards the couch.

"I'm sorry I slept.."I said , adding "Its already 7:30,you should have woke me up Ram.."

He scratched his temple and replied "Thats okay Priya and by the way I came to check on you but you seemed to be in deep sleep so I didn't wake you up.."

He was struggling with Pihu's hair so I offered to help and also I noticed that Ram was still in his tracks. I asked him to go and change and soon after that he left for his room.

"Wow..Somebody is looking very beautiful today." I said tying up Pihu's hair.She didn't reply but I found her smiling.After her hair was done,she turned to look at me. ." You know what??You are going to give complex to Rapunzel today" I smiled and kissed her forehead.

"My mom never told me I was pretty"She said making a sad face.I made her sit on my lap.I didn't know what to say.Pihu was really a cute kid,well mannered and in this very little time, I got attached with her.I couldn't see her this way.

"Don't think you are not pretty okay.You are the most beautiful girl i've ever come across.Your father has been a great figure for you and it reflects in your manners,your behaviour.You are a very special kid" She smiled unwillingly."Now comeon,don't be sad and give me a tight hug" I demanded.Without giving much thought she hugged me and tangled her tiny fingers behind my neck.

I saw Ram standing at the door and noticing us.He mimicked a thank you to me and I nodded him back.Just then I heard the doorbell,Ram went to open the door.

Ram's POV :

Pihu ,Vikrama and Neha sat on the table while Priya helped me with the dishes.I was delighted to see how nicely Priya was handling everything.

"Ready for dinner?" I said placing the last dish.

"Yes..." everyone said in unison.I couldn't hide my grin. They all seemed hungry and especially Pihu.

After Priya was done serving Pihu she stood behind me and started serving me.I hesitated but words failed to come out from my mouth.I simply smiled and mimicked a thanks.I even saw Vikram and Neha grinning.I rolled my eyes at them and gave them a tough look.

We laughed and talked throughtout the dinner but my eyes never left Priya.I don't know why but I felt connected to her.I wanted to spend some time alone with her but there was no way I was getting the chance.I sighed making a sad face.

"Dinner was delicious " Neha said.."Yup.It was too good." added Priya.

"Thank You ladies"I smiled.

"So what are we gonna do now?" asked Vikram.

"Movie!! " shouted Pihu..Everyone laughed at her sudden stand out. Pihu is a movie freak and she places movies before any games,which I sometimes find weird.I even went to the verge of asking the doctor if it was normal.

"If thats what Pihu want,than i'm fine with it" Neha said.Vikram and Priya too agreed.The movie idea seemed boring to me,I am not a movie person and it doesn't interest me much.I made an annoyed face.

"You guys choose what movie you wanna watch.I'll go clean the kitchen" I said and left the living room.

"Movie's about to start papa" Pihu shouted.

"Coming !!"I shouted back holding the dessert tray and making my way to the couch.

"Here's chocolate and vanilla mousse" I said keeping it on the table.Pihu's eyes shone with excitement. I sat beside Priya and I scooped Pihu on my lap.Neha and Vikram took the other couch.

"OmyGod..its sooo tasty" Priya said scooping a spoonful in her mouth."How do you even make this" she added.

I reached for her ear and slowly whispered "I'll teach you how to make it" She blushed and grew red.

Neha cleared her throat "What going on?huh!" she asked.Her brows furrowed.I realised what I did and I felt embarrassed.

"Nothing" we both said.Priya was still red and I felt guilty for throwing her in this situation.

The movie started.It was another animated movie,I knew it was Pihu's choice.I was already bored so I leaned my head on the headrest and closed my eyes.

"Ram.."Priya called me softly.I swung open my eyes to look at her.I was so close to her.I felt my heart beat stop for a moment."Sorry" I said softly not to get Vikram and Neha's attention who were sitting cosily on the couch.

"Where is Pihu?" I suddenly asked realizing she was no more on my lap.

"She was asleep so I tugged her in" Priya replied.She is so thoughtful.I was starting to admire her more and more.I scratched my temple and again realized the movie was already over.I checked the time,it showed 11:30p.m.

"Did I really sleep that long?" I quotioned her.She threw a soft laugh and nodded her head.

The rest 30 minutes passed by chatting with Vikram,Neha and Priya.They went on and on about their work and their khadoos boss.I was enjoying their company.New-year eve have never been this better for me.Not soon after that the clock struck 12.
