I haven't really watched much episodes prior to this so I don't really know how Zakir's character has shaped up and what he is really up to. So no claims here, this is just my conjecture! Just a different pair of eyes on him.
Zakir's portrayal of a hostile and cold person is quite intriguing and somewhere down the line it feels too linear on the surface. Maybe there are more dimensions his characterization, he is much more layered and complex than appears to be. For some weird reason he reminds me of "The Professor Snape" of the ever so famous Harry potter series.
There is something very subtle about him. Maybe he is Sandy's driving force here in this male dominated job area. Does Suraj have a hand in Zakir being the way he is? Maybe they both are trying to give an answer to "men" who think women are not physically or mentally tough enough for a law enforcement job.
Do you think Zakir's true loyalties lie somewhere else?
