Episode begins with Krishna and Rukmini walking along a beach. Rukmini expresses regret over not being able to meet the Pandavas and Kunti, but Krishna hints that they are alive. Krishna informs her that everything is about to change very soon, to combat the adharma that is being done by Kings everywhere on the common people.
Krishna says that he will soon meet the Pandavas in Panchal. Krishna tells Rukmini that Shakti is about to arrive in Panchal and that he must protect her from King Drupad.
In a cave in Panchal, Shikandini looks uncomfortable as she sees soldiers whipping brahmins. One brahman falls down and begs for water, which she gives him. Drupad arrives and asks with whose permision is she giving out water. Shikhandini says they will be the cause of his death and earn the sin of brahman killing if he isn't given water. Drupad says they are all fakes and kicks the water pot out of her hands.
Drupad tells the rishi that if he cannot get him a son from his tapasya then he won't bother leaving him alive. The rishi tells Drupad that he only sees a daughter in his destiny.
Drupad becomes enraged and grabs a sword to kill the rishi, but he is interrupted by two rishis dressed in white.
They tell Drupad that they will give him what he desires if he stops attacking the other rishis. They are introduced as Maharishi Yaj and Upyaj (at least they got their names right!) 👏
Drupad says that when he came to them before they rejected to help him, but they changed their minds seeing him torture a few brahmans. Yaj and Upyaj tell Drupad he will only obtain the son he wants if he accepts a daughter as well.
Drupad gets angry again saying that a daughter is of no use to him as she cannot protect his self respect, neither can she obtain revenge for him. He starts cursing Shikandini as well, who looks heartbroken to hear him speak this way. Yaj tells Drupad that there is no bigger fortune in the world than getting a daughter.
He talks about Daksh who only had daughters and then went on to become Prajapati. Only through his daughters did the rest of the world become populated. Upyaj says that his daughter will fulfil all his desires and will be the tool used to bring dharma to the world once more, and will change history. Drupad doesn't look convinced!
In a remote forest, Arjun and Nakul carry fruits back to the rest of the family. The become emotional seeing them all bearing hardship. They're all dressed as brahmans without any gold or jewels. The Pandavas notice how dejected Kunti looks and they all come sit beside her with the fruit and veg for their meal. Arjun asks Kunti to distribute the food, which she does, but still with a glum expression.
To cheer her up Arjun asks her the riddle that Bhishma had asked them as children - to eat without bending your arm. The other Pandavs smile while Kunti looks confused. Suddenly she sees five hands offering her a piece of fruit and she understands and smiles. She takes a bite from all their hands and everyone is happy.
Precap: Some rishis tell the Pandavas about Drupad wanting to defeat them and obtaining a son who can kill Drona. Drupad's yagya is shown where he asks for a son who will cut off Drona's head and place it at his feet.
