Beautiful movie! Mast magan... Love this song

It was DDLJ in a different way, if you know what I mean. Nevertheless I loved the story and the characters. The whole Punjabi Tamilian rifts, clashes and reconciliation was nicely portrayed. There was never a dull moment in terms of the execution

Alia's acting gives me Kareena vibes. The girl has the spunk and if she selects good scripts, she has the potential to become a really good actress. I'm starting to like her. As for Arjun, he was okish. I feel he was better in his first movie

Wish somebody else played Krish's mom's role as Amrita was not that convincing. Revathy was good and so was Ronit Roy

Special 26 :
Brilliant Movie. The story was awesome. Rarely seen a bollywood movie like that. 👏
The song Kaun mera was too good. 👍🏼

P.S. Watched it on DD National. 😡 They were blanking everything.
In one scene manoj bajpayee says "Saalon ne dukaan bhi loota aur workshop bhi" and they muted "Saalon" 🤣

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

I would like to open with one word; Wow. I had been wanting to watch this movie since I had seen the first trailer. The movie was outstanding. The cinematography was perfect and the character development was extraordinary. The film was very well paced and at no point did i felt rushed during the movie. This movie actually sums up the difference in creativity,Tech, story narrating between HW and BW 😆

4/5

Karthik Calling Karthik
What an awesome movie! Farhan and Deepika look so awesome together. I liked the parts where there is a total transformation in Farhan from a spineless guy to a smart and daring guy. (He looked hawt in the black suit 😳😆) Liked the concept of subconscious mind. The look and feel of the film are a bit depressing and gloomy though. Farhan Akhtar's acting is superb! 👍🏼

I'll give it a 4. (.5 for Farhan)

Many critics have panned the book and many people have said that there's nothing worth reading in the book but 2 States has been my guilty pleasure since the first day I started reading it.😳 I've read the book innumerable times and I was really excited for the movie but found the trailer extremely boring. But the movie was completely different from the trailer. A very well made film. Nothing extraordinary or thoughtful having a deep meaning but sometimes, it's nice to watch a simple film which leaves you satisfied by the end of it. And 2 States was one such film. Since the story was already known, there wasn't something new or unique for me but I completely enjoyed the film. Very well directed by Abhishek Varman and the cast of the film was it's plus point.

Though I still feel that Arjun could have been better (He looked like the perfect Krish, but his dialogue delivery is very weird and I find it difficult understanding what he says , incase he doesn't gobble up the words).Ronit , Shiv , Revathi and Amrita were too good! Amrita and Revathi were effortless. And I can't help but just praise Alia because she gave a consistent performance after Highway. Hated her in SOTY. Started liking her in Highway and absolutely loved her in 2 States for such a natural portrayal of Ananya! The cast was the film's strongest point followed by the direction. Overall, A well made film and entertaining from the first scene to the last.

Things that I liked:
1)The direction- Abhishek Varman had an eye for detailing. Starting from the auto bringing Kavita to IIM playing Bhai Bhai to the paintings of Minty and Duke as Jodha-Akbar, Revathi serving coffee to Ananya's prospective groom in a tumbler and saucer to the final wedding sequence of Ananya and Krish, everything was spot on!

2) The passage of the two years at IIM through the Offo song with the inclusion of the different festivals. The stacking up of Idlis as a birthday cake for Ananya. The memories Krish had about the different cities while writing the book, whenever he writes Chennai, flashes of Chennai come in, etc., the sound of the droplets of water heard by Krish since Ananya's house was so silent.

3) Screenplay. Though I was disappointed that some of my most favorite scenes were not a part of the film, but later thought it was nice of Abhishek to direct the film in his own style than following Bhagat's style. He managed to squeeze in a detailed scene into a simple scene.

4) Cinematography in the final wedding sequence. BEAUTIFUL! The whole temple setting with the background music was very well shot and executed.

Things that I didn't like
1) Skipping of some humorous scenes.
2) Namrata Rao's editing bothered me a LOT! It was bad, very bad.

And finally thank you Dharma.UTV and Nadiadwala for not stereotyping any of the characters in the film, especially the South Indians. It was such a relief to not hear Alia say Aiyo after every word.

Would give the film a 3.5/5.

This movie was unrealistic which was extremely bothersome. Some scenes didn't make sense at all. In terms of concept it was something different and they didn't opt for the romantic angle which was really nice. I liked her childhood story and I liked the way they brought that issue up, because I have read about some of the stories online. In reality they get swept under the rug and rarely get spoken about so it was wonderful to watch a movie talk about it.

I loved the cinematography. That was the best part about the movie. Also the scenes when she asks him about his mother and even asks him to promise that he will go see her. In terms of acting Alia has improved in acting compared to SOTY (the little I saw of it I thought she was awful) but she needs to work a LOT on her acting. At times I couldn't help but think of other actresses that could have done this movie.

3/5 (for cinematography)

But they did have the romantic angle, it wasn't explicit, but it was there 🤔
