Welcome to yet another edition of Reflections, first of all lemme begin by thanking each one of our contributors,writers & readers for patronising DC .. Its great to find a bunch of people who like you understand the 'grip' this powerful story still has on us ... So hola my kindered souls ..
Shikha .. as promised answers to ur queries ... sometimes after posting when i visit DC & read the encouragement we writers receive here .. i am overwhelmed .. but lets take a moment to also encourage the readers who stop by post a comment which brings to life a moment of IPK which touched them .. Shikha .. like i said the other day .. ur questions amaze me with their depth .. they are seemingly extremely simple questions but they bring to life IPK .. in a way that makes us the fans even happier ...

I have to ask this most silly question why did Arnav not fix allowance to Khushi since she was his wife ( well in name sake only ) for her tit bit expenditure since he was such a rich man .
It could have been small allowance .
It did not strike his mind even afer Khushi borrowed 300Inr from Arnav and Khsuhi had work to repay his 300 inr .
What an amazing question Shikha .. point one ..we don't know there was no "ghar kharchi" being given ... she as the wife did manage the household along with Anji & Payal .. so they had to have some household expense account ... thats the prosaic answer now for the script answer ...
Well the Rs. 300/- incident u mention .. isn't this the second eye opener on 'money' for Arnav .. the money taunt was his one SHIELD to keep Khushi at bay .. the first time it happens is after his engagement to la .. Khushi is called back to help in Shantivan .. she puts the condition of NO MONEY ... thats the first eroding of his SHIELD ...this is the second one .. when she insists on that CONTRACT to pay back the Rs. 300./- such an inane sum .. such an inane request .. he had seen her break her 'ghullak' & gather her life's savings .. he sees her struggling to make the nos meet .. only when she fails she asks him for help ... the third & last time the SHIELD is eroded is when she insists on working to pay her way ..
Finally at GH stay .. the last remaining SHIELD is eroded ... when he sees her HELPING HER FAMILY with the HER OWN HARD EARNED MONEY ... & thats why the last taunt comes on the bridge ... IT WILL TAKE A MAD PERSON TO WALK AWAY FROM THIS WEALTH ... & one thing Arnav knew about KHUSHI was that she was MAD ENUF ... remember "thodi pagal hai par cute hai"
Arnav was a man who was self made .. he recognised a Kindered SPIRIT in Khushi .. each time he offered her HELP .. it was with much deliberation that she accepted it ... This is Arnav recognising & respecting that in KHUSHI ... while he makes token PROTESTS .. he does not STOP the DABBA business .. WHILE he gets aggravated .. HE DOES NOT STOP her from taking TUTIONS ... & finally he recognises her need to be SELF RELIANT ... & offers her the opportunity to legitimatise & start up her own business .. (after KC) ...

I have another question - during KC song which was played why it had sad tune and words like...
when I close my eyes I see you and i can call you mine only in my dreams...
Whoa .. why did u find this song SAD .. its a playful song .. listen to the lyrics .. "pyaar ki yeh raat hai .. ab na ja" .. the music is preppy enuf to dance on .. its definitely not a SAD SONG .. intact the song is about Arnav trying to distract KHUSHI in a way which benefits him the most ... FLIRTING WITH HER ... she is HUNGRY but determined to complete her FAST .. she just explains why the FAST was so important to her .. so to distract her he starts flirting with her .. dancing with her .. whoa if he gets to be closer to his wife in this way .. well that was the added incentive .. its a light .. romantic .. beautiful moment between the lovers ... KHUSHI is totally emersed as the SHANTIVAN BAHU .. she has suffered a lot thru the hands of the RAIZADA's .. thru the hands of Arnav specially .. & now this woman still finds it in her heart to FAST for him .. touched beyond himself .. he sets out to please his wife .. by doing the ONE thing which guarantees a smile on her face .. DANCE ... š
You know this song though very romantic had some words sad like.. i can call you mine in my dream only something like this ...made me think something bad is going to happen but I was so much into IPK that every episode and sad word made me think and sometimes also cry silly me.
How ever after your post I am very clear . Thank you Ruby .It is indeed one of the most romantic beautiful song with Sarun making it more special.

One more question -
After Farak Padta Track leading to Arnav breaking his engagement with La since he was sure that he loved Khushi and he was keen to have Khushi in life why did he let NK flirt with Khushi and let Khushi and NK be together at every occasion .
It was only after Teri meri and Sannsae ruk jaegi moment that made Arnav open up to Khushi and go for her

Whoops .. this will again open a pandoras box ... Well lets look at this MY way for a moment ...
DInt ARNAV get engaged to LA cause of KHUSHI .. at what point of time did he plan to really get ENGAGED or MARRIED TO LA ...
Lets c Diwali .. the day he says .. I WILL GET MARRIED TO LA ... the next moment he looses his cool saying i said i will at some point not tomorrow .. the REALITY of what he has done has HIT HIM .. he never intended getting even ENGAGED to LA .. to him if he committed he would be in it for real ...
Now lets look at the engagement DATE .. why does the date get fixed .. its coz KHUSHI says .. "FARAK NAHI PADTA HAI" .. to prove to her that FARAK PADTA HAI .. he puts up an engagement date ... knowing full well .. if he was so deeply HURT with her ENGAGEMENT .. enuf to lambast her she was not going to be far behind ..
Now for the NK part .. when does he ALLOW NK to flirt OPENLY with KHUSHI .. he is SURE by then that KHUSHI ACTUALLY LOVES HIM ...
ok ok opened the pandora's box .. chalo lets go to the scene .. after khushi tells arnav she is engaged .. Anji is in the room with Arnav .. & she tells him she felt all is not well with Khushi's engagement .. now pls note Arnav's dialog ... "JISS SE PYAAR NAHI KARTI .. "
He knew she doesnt LOVE her fianc .. he knew she LOVED him ... that WAS HIS BELIEF so while NK was acting friendly he was FINE .. the day NK crossed the boundary .. ARNAV STEPPED IN & PUT A STOP TO IT .. the bare back incident .. & then the car accident incident .. then the shaadi incident ...
Arnav understood that while NK was trying to be friendly .. KHUSHI just treated him like a favoured guest at Shantivan ... someone to joke with .. had he ever FELT that KHUSHI was seriously flirting with NK .. u wud've got a FORCED MARRIAGE .. cause NK .. not SHYAM ... š š š
Note the dialog when he opens her hair after the bare back incident .. he tells her .. "tumhe toh pata hi nahi hota hai tumhare saath kya ho raha hai" ... a complete testament on his BELIEF in her INNOCENCE ..
Now this question of Urs .. incredibly brings to life what i said about the MAIN REASON for FIRST MARRIAGE ... Arnav as suggested in the dialogue with Anjali .. knew that KHUSHI loved him .. NOW imagine his SHOCK IN SEEING HER IN SHYAM's ARMS ... the SHOCK that the woman who he THOUGHT LOVED HIM ... COULD be in LOVE with ANOTHER ..WHOA ... the EGO takes a BIG BEATING ... š š

Arnav did let NK flirt with Khushi for quite a long time and did nothing just
watch them.
Oh I like it when you say had he ever FELT that KHUSHI was seriously flirting with NK .. u wud've got a FORCED MARRIAGE .. cause NK .. not SHYAM - True True you are right .
However Arnav was jealous whenever Khushi and NK were together and laughing and jealous Arnav looked very adorable.
Ruby have so much deep insight into every episode and every track that it is amazing and really After reading your post I watch the episode again and understand better .Thank you .
