suman kalyanpur could not deliver anything which lata mangeshkar couldnt -to any song or to any music director-my feelings,if anyone disagrees please write...to keep the thread alive for some more time 😊

Many songs like "Na tum hame jaano" or "Na jane kahan tum the" "Mera pyar bhi tu hai" are so perfect and like Lata that till date I did not know it was SK who sang these and not Lata.

SK truly did not get what she deserved. With that talent she should have sung thousands of songs.

But same was happening with Asha in earlier days. She has said in an interview that her voice was similar to Lata, and had to cultivate a unique singing style in order to stay in the industry. Which she did marvelously and carved a niche for herself.

Afterall luck ki bhi baat hai. Thanks for the info.

That doesn't make her any less of a singer. She just had the misfortune of having almost the same voice as Lataji and a quiet personality that didn't help when it came to competing in the music industry.

i love the song "zindagi imtihan leti hai"... i have to say- until a few months ago i thought it was sung by lataji though 😕 ... sumanji has a lovely voice... having a voice similar to lataji's unfortunately turned out to be a huge disadvantage to her
