Dhritarashtra is struggling to come to terms wth the words of Vidur emphasizing him worthy of carrying the royal crown.. He lashes out with daggers at the practice arena.. eyerone ironically hitting the bull's eye.. He had indeed become a worthy warrior.. Gandhari approaches with her love to wash away the pain.. She is happy that she blinded herself thus saving herself from seeing the injustice meted out to her husband.. The ruthless uncaring world is not worthy of being adored by her... For the firsat time the coldness for Gandhari is Dhritarashtra is poised to melt but fate has something else in store..
A minister comes to narrate the proceedings in the court where Pandu finally ascended the throne after much persuasion saying he wold rule the kingdom as a legacy of his brother like Bharat did for Shri Ram...
Dhritarashtra is unmoved... he doesnot consider his younger brother capable of such noble thoughts...With anger, frustration and hoplessness he blurts out the truth..He has been pushed to a life of darkness to live as a nobody.. His children thus cheated of a royal lineage... The Kuruclan would henceforth be glorified by Pandu and his sons... (Prophetic words that would ring true in the years to come)The tears of Dhritrashtra as he falls to the ground dejected defeated splashes onto a soft pair of hands...
Gandhari with all her being wants to be the shoulder for her husband to lean on in thsi time of personal crisis... But a chandravanshi prince is able and strong to partake whatever bitterness life throws at him.. Overcoming his momentary weakness he pushes away Gandhari and walks away to wallow alone in his darkness which has nothing more than torturous miser Gandhari's efforts to bridge the gap in her marital relationship is rendered futile once again...
Shakuni watches the proceedings at Hastinapur is forced silence... the plight of his sister troubles the devoted brother...He refuses to leave for Gandhar with his parents citing his inability to leave his sister in her wretched condition. He inflicts himself with a wound in his ankle to remind the treachery that was heaped on his sister. He promises to make Gandhari the empress of Hatinapur and till it materializes he vows not to leave Hastinapur or let the Kuru clan enjoy a moment of bliss and peace...
When a grave injustice plagues man his life centers around it..The
need for justice clamours high... But the path of justice is to make the
aggressor realize and repent and reestablish the trust for justice in
society in the heart of the victim.
When the focus shifts from this to concentrate in ensuring more hurt
on the one who brought forth injustice, it no longer is the path of
Dharma... The victim thus slowly walks the road to become the aggressor
himself...In Dhritarashtra's chamber...
Shakuni enters to strike and poison the mind of an aggrieved Kuru
prince.He addresses Dhritarashtra as maharaj and shows him a ray of
hope to become the rightful king...
Dhritarashtra is smart enough to understand that Shakuni wants him to
practice deceit for his own family...He declines to listen to his
counsel...But Shakuni is clever enough to point out how his sister was the
only who stood by his side at the lowest point in life.. And her
companionship would ensure him with a strong and robust line of 100
sons .. Thus bringing him in the centre-stage of Hastinapur politics...The young prince suddenly sees an opportunity and use for his previously shunned wife.
