HAHK or Gadar: Which had the most impact

Both were the biggest hits of their time. While HAHK was a game changer for BW, Gadar came and broke its records. Gadar and HAHK have the highest footfalls and second highest footfalls ever. Both films appealed to the family audiences. But which film do you think had a stronger impact and why. Impact in terms of influencing BW as an industry and influence on pop culture.

As far as impacting Bollywood is concerned HAHK is the clear winner. Gadar had no effect on Bollywood whatsoever, in fact from 2002 the two Aamir films Lagaan and DCH stand out over major grossers like Gadar and KKKG as far as impact and longevity is concerned.
But HAHK was no great shakes either, a year later DDLJ released and it has paved ways for hundreds of similar love stories and is the most impactful film of the modern era. Dabangg is the other game changer that reintroduced the Masala trend in Bollywood.

It doesn't matter how big of a hit a film is during its time, trends cannot be predicted. DDLJ, DCH and Dabangg might be much smaller hits than HAHK, Gadar and 3I but they were much more impactful in the future direction of Bollywood.

The true mark if a legendary iconic film is one that the small Insiginifanct portions are fondly remembers

I agree😆...although DDLJ is not one of my favorite Shahrukh movies...but DDLJ has been imitated the most in the movies that came later and are still imitated after 20 years...and the dialogues of DDLJ are still the most popular ...
