AAJI AND ISHU MAKE A WISH!
Hi, I am back with another one shot! This idea came up when I was writing the Kashmiri Kali one! And I loved the idea. It is based after the current wedding track going on but before Daya Mai enters! Read and review!
"Ruko, Ishaan! Ruko!", Antara hollered as Ishaan ran away from her. Ishu's school had started weeks back and today was just another school day for the family. But Ishaan had different wish. He wanted to bunk the school and play around. But his Didi refused to allow him leave. Hence, he ran around the house half dressed while his Didi followed him behind with tie, shoes and socks in her hand. Finally she caught him and after giving him a sound scolding she dressed him and sent him to school. Poor Ishaan! He had to go to the school today!
"Ruk ja, Chintu! Sun toh!", Aaji shouted while Raghu walked away. Aaji sighed miserably. Kya hai yeh Bappa? Ek hi cheez toh maangti hai main? Ki ek din ke liye mera Chintu mere saath time bitaaye! Par yeh ladka hai ki sunta hi nahi! Apni dhunki main rehta hai!" She huffed and waited for Antara to come.
The whole day Ishaan and Aaji were sad. At night Ishaan stood at the balcony staring at the sky. Yeh Antara Didi bhi na! Ek bhi baat nahi sunti! Ek din chutti le leta toh kya hota! Kaash Antara didi Raghu Bhaiyya jaisi hoti! Ek dum bindaas! Kaash Raghu Bhaiyya mere bhai hote! He noticed a star falling and his eyes widened. His closed his eyes and asked a wish in a loud voice, "Meri Antara Didi bahut boring hai! Use Raghu Bhaiyya jaisa banaa do! Mujhe yeh Antara didi nahi chaahiye!" He smiled and walked away to sleep.
Meanwhile Aaji also noticed the star through her room window and she also made her wish, "Hey Bappa! Mere Raghu ko Antara ke jaisa ek dum jimmedaar banaa do! Woh mere saath waqt bitaaye bas main yahi chaahti hoon!" She smiled softly. She wished her Chintu would spend time with her just the way Antara did daily. She hoped her wish would come true and went to sleep. That night two wishes were granted.
NEXT MORNING
It was 8 in the morning and Aaji walked towards the kitchen. She had already taken bath and had gotten ready and now she wanted her daily cup of chai! But unfortunately, no one was there to give her a chai! Ghar ke mardon ko toh chai banaani nahi aati aur yeh Rasika toh kuch kaam ki nahi hai! She wandered into the kitchen only to stop in shock. There stood Raghu making chai! She rubbed her eyes with her hand but the scene refused to change. "Chintu?", she whispered softly and Raghu turned to look at her. He smiled and mumbled, "Do minute ruk haan, Aaji! Aapko chai banaake deta hoon!" Aaji looked with open mouth as Raghu placed two cup of tea in front of her and sat down to drink from one of them. Raghu noticed her standing and gestured to the other cup of tea, "Baitho Aaji! Piyo!" Aaji hurried to the seat and sat down. She started drinking. Arre Waah! Chai toh bahut badhiya hai! She was about to say it out loud when Raghu spoke up, "Maine na Aaji aaj Antara ko chutti de di hai. Aaj aap aur main saath mein waqt bitaayenge!" Aaji stilled for a moment and looked at Raghu in surprise. Suddenly, she remembered her wish from the last night. Kahi bappa ne meri ichcha poori toh nahi kardi! Kahin woh toot te taaron waali baat sach toh nahi! As she drank calmly, she felt happiness bubble inside her. Jo bhi ho! Aaj Raghu mere saath waqt bita raha hai! Main bas usi mein khush hoon!
Ishaan woke sleepily and looked at the wall clock and noted the time. Suddenly, his eyes widened. The clock showed that it was 9 AM. Nau baj gaye! Aur mera school toh nau baje start hota hai! Mera school miss hogaya! He panicked and ran out only to stop in his tracks. On the living room sofa sat his Di eating an apple. This normally should not have surprised Ishu. But what surprised him today was that Antara sat on the sofa with one leg hanging over the arm of the sofa and she had her other leg on the table in front of her. Ishu looked at his sister with open mouth. Antara noticed him and she smiled, "Good morning, Ishu! Kaise hai tu? Ek dum jhakaas na!", she went back to eating apple while Ishaan looked at her in shock. Yeh Didi Raghu bhai jaise kyun baat kar rahi hai? Suddenly he remembered the reason he had come running to the hall. "Di, meri school!" Antara shrugged, "Aaj tu school mat ja!" "Kya?", Ishaan asked again in shock. Antara replied flippantly, "Kal tu bol raha tha na ki tereko nai jaane ka hai! Toh aaj tereko meri taraf se chutti. Abhi se tereko jis din jaana hai ja, nahi jaana hai toh mat ja!" Ishu stared at her for a moment and then let out a cheer and hugged his Di. His eyes widened as he realized that his wish from yesterday had come true!
Half an hour later, Aaji smiled as she and Raghu spoke to each other happily. Aaji enjoyed the whole time and wished that Raghu remained this way everyday. Meanwhile, Ishaan enjoyed playing outdoor games with his Didi. He wished that his Di remained this way everyday. Soon time passed with Aaji and Ishaan enjoying their time with Raghu and Antara.
It was nearing afternoon when while playing hide and seek Ishaan fell down. His knees got scrapped and he shouted, "Di! Lag gayi!" Antara shrugged, "Khel mein toh lagta rehta hai, Ishaan! Aadat laga le!" and walked away when Maami called for lunch. Ishaan frowned, "Yeh Didi ne aisa kyun kahaa? Pehle jab mujhe maar lagti toh Di daud ke aati aur mujhe medicine lagaati aur poora din mera khayaal rakhti!" He pouted but ran off to get lunch.
Aaji looked in shock as Raghu started feeding her with his hands. Itna pyaar se toh Antara bhi nahi khilaati! Lagta hai mera wish jyaada zor se padh gaya! She smiled as Raghu continued feeding her.
Soon the day passed and with time Ishaan started missing his Didi. He missed his Didi who cared for him whenever he got hurt, the one who used to worry for his homework, the one who used to make sure his next day's uniform was ready or not. He missed it because this new Didi did nothing except play with him and did not show any concern when he showed her a tear in his uniform. This Didi did not care whether he passed next day's exam or not. Infact, she did not even care if he missed next day's school. And this started unnerving him.
On the other side, Aaji started getting irritated with Raghu as the day passed. Raghu seemed more over protective than Antara. He did not allow her to move, to eat any achar or snacks. Infact, he did not even allow her to watch T.V. He did not even back answer. This Raghu was too obedient for her tastes. He was too polite and kind while speaking. Isse achcha toh woh puraana waala Raghu hi achcha tha! Yeh toh chain se saans bhi nahi lene deta hai! She glared at Raghu who was arranging her bedspread properly. It seemed that he had found fault even in her bedspread! She missed the Raghu who replied back sarcastically. She missed the Raghu who would huff away when she called him Chintu! She missed her rough and tough Chintu!
As the evening came, Aaji and Ishu turned sad and by the time night came they were morosely staring at Raghu and Antara. They were fed up by this new change in their family member and wanted the old person back.
By the time night arrived, Aaji was back at her window while Ishaan stood by the balcony. Aaji closed her eyes and wished loudly, "Bas bappa bahut hogaya! Ab mere Raghu ko normal karde! Nahi chaahiye mujhe Antara jaisa Raghu! Ek Antara hi kaafi hai! Ab mere Raghu ko waapis karde! Mujhe mera puraana waala Raghu dilaade!" Meanwhile, Ishu closed his eyes and prayed to the God, "Bhagwaan! Mujhe meri Antara Didi dedo! Yeh didi toh bilkul Raghu bhai jaisi hi hai! Mujhe waisi Antara didi nahi chaahiye! Mujhe kal waali Antara Didi lauta do please!"
Ishaan went inside and after a while, Antara wandered out of the balcony. Soon, Raghu came to the terrace of his house. He looked at her curiously. She smiled in reply, "Plan successful! " Raghu clapped and gave a bow, "Mera plan tha! Kaamyaab toh hona hi tha! Idhar bhi Aaji line pe aagayi! Abhi uske kamre se sunke aaya hoon!" Antara smiled happily, "Aur Ishu bhi abhi Bhagwaan se maang raha tha ki main normal ho jaaun!" Raghu nodded his head, "Chalo achcha hai! Ek din mereko bhi alag karne mila aur tujhe bhi maja karne ka chance mila!" Antara nodded and they looked at each other awkwardly unsure what to talk about now that their discussion was over. Raghu scratched the back of his head while Antara looked here and there nervously. After a while, Antara hesitantly waved her hand, "Good night!" Raghu nodded and Antara went inside.
Antara sat on her bed and smiled. She remembered how last night after hearing Ishu's wish, she had felt sad and had walked out of the house and walked on the road only to find Raghu looking at her. He had seen her get out of the house and he had a feeling that she needed him. She had sadly told him of Ishu's wish and Raghu spoke of a similar wish he heard from Aaji when he went into her room for something. They talked for a while when Raghu suddenly had an idea of making Ishu and Aaji regret their words. He told Antara his plan and after a lot of convincing from Raghu's part Antara agreed to it. For next few hours, Antara taught Raghu how to make tea and all about taking care of Aaji while Raghu taught her how to speak in his style and the various games that can be played. And hence, they hatched a fullproof solid plan! Antara came out of her thoughts and lied on the bed. She sighed as she thought; Raghu tum poore duniya mein mere best friend ho! Aur mere liye bahut khaas bhi! On the other side, Raghu lied on the bed and played his mouth organ all the while thinking of Antara. Yeh ladki kuch khaas hai, nai? And hence the night ended.
NEXT MORNING
Aaji got up and went searching for Raghu hoping against hope that he was back to normal. She found him standing on the terrace looking at the basti. She spoke up, "Kya kar raha hai tu, Chintu?" Raghu looked at her in confusion, "Main, main idhar roti bana raha hoon. Aaj shaam ko wahi khaayenge haan?" He rolled his eyes and turned to look at the basti. Aaji griined. Her Chintu was back! She went and hugged a confused Raghu tightly. Meanwhile, Ishaan got up early and went looking for his Di. He found her in the balcony talking to their mom's doctor discussing things. She noticed him and narrowed her eyes, "Tum uth gaye! Jaao jaldi jaao aur Maami se chocolate drink piyo. Phir tumhein school bhi jaana hai, nai?" Ishaan looked at her in shock and then grinned widely, "DI!", he shouted and hugged her tightly. Across the road, Aaji hugged Raghu tightly glad that he was back. Raghu noticed Antara and Ishaan hugging. Antara looked up and raised an eyebrow as she noticed Aaji hugging him. Raghu shrugged and smiled at her. Antara sent him a thumbs up and Raghu replied with a wink. And this was how Aaji and Ishu's wish came true!
