Rati Pandey that is the name that immediately comes to mind when we think of acting versatility and when we hear the phrases "Ms. Perfectionist", "Queen of Expressions" or "Heart of Millions". There is no doubt that Rati's efforts and passion of playing uniquely diverse yet authentic character roles, from a bubbly, outspoken and vivacious college girl named Nupur Bhushan in the popular youth show MJHT, to a strict, disciplined and hardworking lady by the name of Indira Sharma in the more recent Hitler Didi, have given the audiences a taste of her versatility. People all over the world have got to see that when she acts, there is an underlying intensity and depth and confidence that infuse her scenes with a timeless magic of her own. Well, let's put it this way: When she acts, there is no acting going on there, it is just real! Most of the credit is due to her inspiring ability and innate quality to morph herself into the character she is playing. She justifies her characters so well on the screen actually that we can draw parallels from them to real life. A true acting talent, Rati has a full range of emotions that she displays with utmost conviction, thoughtfulness and commitment. She is always ready to walk and explore new paths. Whereas other actresses would perhaps have been unable to handle the great challenge of portraying multiple, complex characters in one single show (HD) gracefully, Rati did not think twice and essayed them all with such kind of sophisticated confidence and perfection in her abilities that Tellywood has not witnessed before. This again speaks volumes to her versatile acting skills. Apart from her sheer acting skills she, though being a rockstar onscreen, is such a genuinely sweet, bubbly, naughty, humble and down-to-earth person offscreen. Spending time with family comes as a priority for her, and so do honesty and dedication towards her work, and to perform it so well with no flaws to speak of. With her fabulous, natural acting, her typical Indian beauty with sharp features as well as her delightful, charismatic personality, Rati has conquered the hearts of her viewers of all ages and will continue to do so long into the future...

Rati was born on 11th September, 1982 in Assam. But she originally belongs to Patna and till now she is really attached to her hometown. Her family and close friends lovingly call her "Pammi". Little did they know that their Pammi had oodles of talent and would grow up to become an accomplished actress. A tomboy in her childhood and teen years, Rati was known as a big prankster among her friends. She first studied in Patna for 7 years before finally moving to Delhi for her further studies. Becoming an actor was never her agenda in her childhood days. In fact her goal was to either become a pilot or start up her own business. She was always more inclined towards arts and used to organize events during her school and college days. She has graduated in Commerce from Miranda House, Delhi. Being a studious girl, she earned her first salary by giving tuition. Not only this, she is a linguist with a knowledge of around 7-8 languages! And that's not all, she was an exceptional athlete, a javelin thrower during her college days. One cannot fathom the number of facets to her personality!

Rati Pandey's journey of almost 7 years in this industry has been really interesting. Her passion for music led her to participate in a singing reality show where Adnan Sami was the judge. She once aspired to be a singer and was even supposed to launch an album with a known singer. But destiny had something else in store for her! Her acting passion overpowered all other interests and she decided to try her luck in the acting field. So she participated in Zee Cinestar's ki Khoj in 2006. Though she did not manage to win the talent hunt, offers started pouring in soon. She acted in many music albums and made episodic appearances in shows like CID, Raat Hone ko Hai. She also bagged lead roles in two movies down south. But she soon shifted back to the Hindi entertainment industry and appeared in some commercial ads.

The show Shaadi Street (2007) marked her debut in the TV industry where she essayed the role of Nandini. However due to certain issues, the show went on air much later, (in 2009) that too at a late night slot. But Rati did not lose hope and bagged the lead role in "Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai" on Zee TV. It was a typical saas bahu show where she played Prarthana, a simple and innocent girl whose biggest priority was her family. The show did not manage to grab too many eye balls but it made producers take notice of her. And ultimately in 2008 she landed up with her first breakthrough role, which was Nupur Bhushan in Star One's popular youth show "Miley Jab Hum Tum". Rati was the first TV bahu who went on to play a younger role! Initially she was a bit apprehensive of taking up the role, but her mother and the producers of the show managed to convince her and the rest is history. Nupur was one of the most loved characters of her time and made Rati a household name overnight. She became darling of the youth, with people imitating her trademark "By God" and girls copying Nupur's style in every way possible. The extremely bubbly and filmy character became a trendsetter of sorts and loads of characters on similar lines found their way on TV! Her chemistry with her MJHT co-star too became the talk of the town. No wonder when Nupur's character was killed in the show, in order to give a twist to the story, fans went berserk. They couldn't bear the thought of watching MJHT without their favourite character Nupur, who was the most loved character of the show. This led to an outrage and people spammed the mails of the production house and channel, made hundreds of petitions, called up the office of the channel everyday. Ultimately fans won this battle within 2 months and managed to bring her back in the show. During MJHT days, she also made episodic appearances in Imagine's dance reality show "Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan" where she showcased her dancing skills.

After MJHT ended, Rati took a hiatus of months before she signed an adventurous travel-based reality show "Ritz Jee le ye pal" on Star Plus. In 2011, Rati was offered the role of Hitler Didi on Zee TV and she immediately grabbed the offer because she wanted to play a strong role which was contrasting to the ones she has played in the past. She actually turned down a lot of shows on big channels because they all offered her roles similar to Nupur. She fitted in the role of Indira Sharma to the T. In fact no one had imagined that the same actress who had such a bubbly and cheerful image could pull off such a complex and serious role so effortlessly. According to Rati, this show was a turning point in her career as it gave her individual recognition in television industry. She also got an opportunity to portray diverse roles in the same show: From the strict disciplinarian Indira Sharma who turns mentally challenged for some part of the show before being back to her own self, to encounter specialist Zara Khan who turns into an obsessive lover with grey shades later. She even played the two roles simultaneously for some months. Needless to say, she managed to prove her versatility and acting prowess. It fetched her several awards and the character of Indira sharma became so iconic that a college in Rati's hometown Patna even introduced Indira's dress as their official uniform because they were so impressed by Indira's personality. Not only this, Indira's dresses still sell like hotcakes in suit markets.

She also made guest appearances in shows like "Laughter ke Phatke" and Zara Nachke Dikha on star one, Sab TV's show Movers and Shakers, Sony's Comedy Circus, Colors' Big Boss Grand Finale, Zee Rishton ki Antakshari to name a few. If you think only singing, dancing and acting were her forte then you are in for another surprise because Rati also proved her hosting skills in shows like ITA 2010 red carpet, Zee Diwali Event etc. Currently, Rati has taken a sabbatical and is enjoying quality time with her family and friends while we fans await our queen's comeback!

What do I say about you, Rati Pandey? Words don't seem to do enough justice to you. And no I am not exaggerating when I say this. Its coming straight from my heart. Never before have I been so enchanted by a personality! Yes such is her charm that people from all walks of life and from different parts of the world have fallen prey to it. Rati you deserve to go places and get all sorts of accolades possible because you are simply the best. The way you slip in the skin of a character always manages to surprise one and all. It becomes difficult to imagine anyone else playing those characters. When you come on screen, it becomes impossible for us to look elsewhere. You have definitely taken the television industry by a storm. You were lucky to be born with oodles of talent and we were even luckier to witness it all. To be honest, there's no one else like you. If your acting wasn't enough to mesmerize us completely, even your real self seems to be so magnetic and charming that you have unknowingly become a part of our lives. I laugh with your characters, I cry with them. Your interviews have a sort of soothing effect on me that I forget all our worries while watching them. Its amazing how you have managed to be different from the crowd, so dignified, elegant and poised yet so simple. By the way, however cheesy it may sound, you are amazing just the way you are! Besides being an enthralling performer, you're a true Indian beauty. Your eyes speak a language of their own and you have no idea that you bring a smile on everyone's faces just by being you. Zara, I didnt like the way she turned out later just like you..but it was a treat to see you in completely negative and villainous role..I always wanted to see you one..I would have been happier if you played this kind of role in some other show..Still I loved your performance!The way you played two off beat roles in one show was just terrific!And I love your voice..You are so good at singing ..Acting,Singing,Dancing and a Business woman as well..Girl you are a rock star!!
