Another good BBC comedy is "Keeping Up Appearences"

And the one I was telling Anu about you have to see is "Goodness Gracious Me"

I have seen keeping up appearance, and I read about goodness-----you wrote  in last CC, planning to watch this weekend.

Anu, I watched North and South, BBC series, but it is about American history, which good too, I haven't seen comedy one.

Pal that's a different North and South - not the one that we are referring to. Ours is a BBC series based on a book by Elizabeth Gaskell about the condition of English working class in 19th century Northern England (area around Manchester).

The book is amazing (read it twice) and even if you're not interested in the gritty and realistic portrayal of the lives of mill workers in those days, the series is worth watching for these things

1. The cinematography - the best in a TV series I've ever seen
2. The background music - amazing!
3. the female lead - Daniela Ashe is incredible

and more than anything else

Richard Armitage as Mr. Thornton - the best period drama lead ever ever!!
