Pal that's a different North and South - not the one that we are referring to. Ours is a BBC series based on a book by Elizabeth Gaskell about the condition of English working class in 19th century Northern England (area around Manchester). The book is amazing (read it twice) and even if you're not interested in the gritty and realistic portrayal of the lives of mill workers in those days, the series is worth watching for these things1. The cinematography - the best in a TV series I've ever seen2. The background music - amazing!3. the female lead - Daniela Ashe is incredibleand more than anything elseRichard Armitage as Mr. Thornton - the best period drama lead ever ever!!
