Ashutoshs historical hit film had situation n scenario completly different than the new ekta kapoor show "Jodha Akbar".
Where in the movie Jodhas father brings the marraige proposal for Jalal, but in the show the kingdom is preparing itself for battle.Even though it is fate that the matrimony will be seen soon on television, but it brings lots of question in mind ,on how and what will lead to the marraige. It is well known that if amer loses the battle then Jalal will not get Jodha as she will go for johar, and amer wins then why would the king give his daughters hand for marraige. It seems only time will tell how things get developed as its quite difficult to say what will happen next seeing the present episodes.

What Ashutosh Gowarkar showed in his film was historically correct...indeed the King of Amer went to Akbar with his daughter's marriage proposal...and for that he was banished by the other Rajput Royal's of Rajasthan, who considered the Family of Amer (the current Royal Family of Jaipur) to be impure because they had given their daughter to a foreigner. Akbar was never accepted as King by the Rajputs, execept for the Royal Family of Amer!

The only reason why Akbar agreed to marry the Princess of Amer was because apart from being a successful warrior, he was also an astute politiican...and he knew that the only way he could find acceptance amongst his hindu subjects (who formed the majority of his population) was the make peace with the surrounding Hindu Kingdoms! And what better way to do that than marry a hindu girl...and let her keep her faith.
The show has to be a fiction...because if they start showing historical facts, then everyone would realize that leave aside a great love story, there isn't even an iota of romance between Akbar and Jodha!

Good post...
@ poppy 2009: what if this time around also King bharmal takes the proposal to Jalal... I mean knowing that Jalal wants Jodha earlier...😕 But from the promo, looks like Jalal says openly that he wants Jodha...😕 n i think the reason Jalal accepted the marriage, there was a issu of passage thru right 😕

Arre, the show is going completely fictional! The film was slightly more authentic!
Firstly, there was no way in hell that Akbar could have ever seen Jodha before marrying her! Rajput women / girls observed strict purdah and never even stepped out of their homes without covering themselves from top to toe! And Jodha was a Rajput Princess...to even imagine, that she could go out with her face uncovered is inconcievable!
I think in the show, the creatives simply want to show Jalal's passionate side and how he desires to have Jodha as his own...hence, they took this creative liberties!
But it is documented pretty clearly, that indeed Raja Bharmal went to Akbar with his daughter's proposal, when he heard that Akbar's general Sham-shuddin was planning to attack Amer! Akbar probably hadn't even heard about Jodha till then!😆
No idea what the creatives are planning to show here...they might stick to what happened and show that indeed Bharmal goes to Akbar with Jodha's proposal or they might show that Akbar attacks Amer and then asks for Jodha in lieu of Amer's freedom! (This will definitely be more romantic, though totally historically incorrect😆)

jalal accepting the proposal is not important .the fact remains that in the show ,the king himself wants a battle n has no intension of bringing out proposal even though knowing the bhavishy vani made by the lady.so the question is what will make the marraige happen as whatever may come mainavsti wont let her daughter marry jalal

agree but in the movie her mum even suggested to get someone to replace the daughter for the marriage , n she did offer aiswarya rai a bottle of poison as well... But A Rai opted for the marriage as she has no choice n put forward her condition to Jalal...

@ bold ... they accepted or not whole rajisthan was under the Mughal empire. Amer was first and Jodha's brothers did vital role in the defeat of al rajputana diplomatically or by war

Yup...Amer was the first Rajput Kingdom to have voluntarily sided with the Mughals and later on the others followed...most of the Rajput Kindoms were won over by diplomacy.
Mewar (under Udai Singh and Maharana Pratap) was the only Rajput Kindom that refused to come under the Mughals and kept fighting them back, till they were defeated by the Mughals.
