Hi All
I've noticed there's been some really mean comments made about some of the MC3 contestants even though the show's now ended, I mean come on- is there any need?
I got as equally frustrated as some of you but what I can say is that no matter what I thought of them, all of the contestants did really well to get where they did; I admire the ambition, passion and drive that they had and I wish I was half as motivated as them.
I say a huge well done to them all, I thoroughly enjoyed the show and I wish each and every one of them the very best for the future.
You have come to the discussion long after the horse has bolted. But no problem, welcome to the forum.
Coming to your post, I hope you are not so naive!
Mean comments were passed, yes, but then they were on the behaviour exhibited by those contestants (in particular Doyel, Navneet, Yasmin). They know they're on national tv, yet they persisted in : behaving like a 5-yr-old on a sugar rush, backbiting & big talk, crying & crying & crying & crying. There are a few others who will tell you that these people have been instructed by SP, they are like that in reality, blah blah blah. My point is no matter what your brief, you should behave with a certain dignity, especially when you know the contest is being beamed into peoples' homes. Heck, even my 2-yr-old niece knows she has to be on her best behaviour when there are outsiders around! She knows she cannot throw a tantrum or fight, no matter what!
These people are in their 20s and still don't know how to behave in front of others, interact with others politely, become delirious with happiness, lose their senses.
We are commenting on what we saw, what was presented for our viewing pleasure! As paying consumers, since we pay our hard-earned money to watch the numerous tv channels, we demand quality for the amount of money we are paying. And that gives us, or me to be precise, the right to criticise, anaylse and/or comment as we, or I, deem fit. The contestants cannot claim their rights as a private citizen, to take an extreme example, as they themselves have elected to become public figures by taking part in a nationwide contest, but also they themselves have invited us into their personal lives by sharing information or allowing certain video clips to be made of how they spend/spent their lives.
And though, the show is over, we enjoy rehashing somethings or discussing the new happenings in the very lives of these contestants, each of whom is on facebook and/or twitter. So their lives continue to be very much public.
In a few days or a week, the forum will close down. So till then, either join the discussion or you could simply ignore us 😊
