Just google stuff, make it a road trip and you won't need much research. Train will take even less research. 😆 Road trip might be more interesting.

Lengths are okay, I can easily read longer than this. Maybe 1.5 times this should be good.

Mysore is definitely a nice place.

Yes, IMO road trip will give you more scope to write fun than train. Although both are fun in their own way.
