Pooja Gor was born in Gujarat in the city of Ahmedabad. Her early childhood passed in Ahmadabad and Pooja studied in A.G.School, Ahmedabad. Pooja's father Mr.Avinash Gor had done some Print Ads.He inspired Pooja to choose this profession.She consider herself lucky to have such supporting parents.Pooja's younger brother Naman has done a cameo role in popular show 'Gumrah'.The girl who was born with talent and was fond of acting, modeling and have always dreamt of becoming a model and actor. Her parents had noticed her skills at a very tender age on how she watched the actors performing and the way she understands their expressions. Her family & father is connected with modeling and this is how she was hugely inspired with modeling and acting.

At the age of 17 she finally prepared herself with the support of her family for participating in Gujarat inter college of Mr & Miss University competition held on and won 2nd runner up title. Later she participated in College Idol event organised by National institute of event management where she won herself 1st runner up title in Sep 2008. She worked hard in order to qualify & compete at national level for Mr & Miss University event held in Mumbai in November 2008 and went on winning the title of best photogenic face features and 2nd runner up for Miss University making her parents proud of herself. It was not later when she received a call from Ekta Kapoor MD Balaji Telefilms for screen test after she found her pictures published in a website of upcoming models. She got her 1st break in acting and was casted as second lead actress in Koi Aane ko hai serial telecasted on Colors. Later she had worked in Kitni Mohabatein hai on NDTV Imagine and modelling assignments for Kaya Skin Care and cover face for Sunrise Coffee.

In 2009, Following the popularity she bagged the role as a lead actress in Pratigya telecasted on starplus .. she started acting for Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and in that serial she was playing lead role of Pratigya Saxena (later Pratigya Singh) with Thakur Krishna Singh. In Pratigya serial she started with a role beautiful homely girl who help her mother and family. Her role was of a simple, peace loving, and respectful girl. In Krishna's family the men generally torture women and her role was like fighting against this oppression. and the serial had received one of the highest TRP's leaving behind other famous and popular serials.. She is a strong contender to win the best actress award in Star parivar awards... Pooja was seen as a guest contestant on Kaun Banega Crorepati. She also participated in Comedy Circus.Pooja Also done some ramp walks&photoshoots.She has walked on ramp for some popular brands.Couple of month ago she walked ramp for Globus Clothing Summer Collection along with Sasural Genda Phool fame Jay Soni.Recently she has given poses for a calender along with some renowned actresses.

Following the end of Pratigya she continued to be an anchor for starplus' s laakho mein ek where she brought to the viewers real life stories of people who have made a difference to someone's life. She also got approached for a show called the serial produced by balaji telefilms which aired on channel v the show focused on the ins and outs of the reality of celebrity life, she played herself in this show amongst other actors. The versatile actress finished the serial and went on to do more challenging roles, Ekta Kapoor created a short serial to promote her film 'ek thi dayaan ' she called the serial ek thi nayika which aired on life ok, she chose eight of the most popular actresses for each story. Pooja name was amongst these actresses, she did two episodes of this serial in a lead role playing the character of Anya a girl who is newly wed, the story was about a couple based in Delhi who face hell when they have an encounter with a spirit. Pooja 's strong persona as her character Pratigya nari shakti landed her the role of an anchor on life ok' s savdhan India which she is doing at present.
