Hey guys, here's another update.

Part 18

The commotion in the Siddiqui's had finally calmed down. Rashid and his family were going to leave, it was decided. Rashid had enough savings to buy another house and support his family. He secretly called the police to have Gaffur and Razia arrested. Shirin had broken down, now she knew why Rashid had stuck by her throughout. Badi bi was happy that the truth was finally out, but she felt immense pain about how her son was forced to live a life like this. Nikhat and Nuzhat were busy packing, it didn't directly affect them, and hence they were able to support their parents and help fulfil their decision.

Asad and Ayaan reached Khan Mansion and by now everyone was awake and well aware of Humeira's situation. Zoya was the first to ask whether they found her. They told everyone about the situation and just then Ayaan got a call.

"Bhaijaan, hum log shift ho rahe hain, aap kahan hain. Please ghar jaldi ayye. Abu ne dusra makaan liya hai humare liye"

"Kya? Theek hai main jaldi aa raha hoon"

"Kya hua Rabarrt?"

He explained the situation to them and left.

"Asad tumhe nahi lagta, hume inn logon ki madat karni chahiye" Dilshaad said hoping Asad would agree… after all they were family.

"Theek hai"

He called Rashid right away.

"Mr. Rashid, agar aap chahen toh kuch din aap humare ghar par reh sakhte hain aur aap business bhi join kar sakthe hain"

"Asad, ghar ka intezaam ho chukka hai lekin main kuch dino ke liye tumhara business zaroor join karoonga. Thank you beta"

"Ji, jaisa aap ko theek lage" Asad was glad Rashid wasn't coming to stay over; it would be so hard on his mom. The atmosphere was already tense; it would become worse with him around.

Rashid on the other hand felt awkward taking so much from his son, who he gave nothing to. But he couldn't refuse all the offers because this was the first time his son had offered to do something. It was probably the first step to building their relationship.

"Thank you Asad"

"Ammi, you know you don't have to say that." Dilshaad smiled at that. Zoya was happy that things were finally getting better.

Rehaan subtly tried to find out how Humeira felt. He wanted to encourage her to give Ayaan another chance, but at the same time he had to becareful that she didn't get offended.

"Humeira, I want you to be very comfortable here. Please feel at home."

"Rehaan, I can't thank you enough."

"Humeira, if you don't mind me asking, what happened between you and Ayaan?"

By now Humeira had tears in her eyes.

"It's ok Humeira if you don't want to talk about it. Please don't cry"

"No, I think you should know. I was going to be married to him. My ammi had forced him to marry me, may be because I loved him or perhaps for her own benefit – which I don't know about. She bought his love for me. He told me the truth that he didn't love me and I let him go. Then all the truth came out and now he pities me, and that's why he thinks he's in love. "

"Humeira, you know when you are forced for a relationship even if love existed, it would die. May be he loved you but his loved diminished as he was forced?"

"May be, I could give him the benefit of doubt… but then, what if the situation gets better and his love fades? And then he tells me he mistook pity for love?"

"You're right, and the decision is yours. But I did see love for him in your eyes. He was actually jealous of me" at this Rehaan laughed.

Humeira gave a smile and considered the possibility of him loving her. Rehaan saw her pondering; he knew the seed had been planted. It just needed some time to flourish.

After their breakfast was done, they went out in the garden and sipped on their coffee.

"So, Humeira, you never told me you have a sister"

"I just found out Rehaan, and that's how everything came out in the open. Actually, I have no bitterness towards her. She's indirectly always helped me. I love her."

"But then why don't you live with her, not that I don't want you here. I just am worried for your reputation you know? People are going to make your life hard, but of course we don't stop living because of it. You can stay here as long as you like. I'm just curious." He gave her mixed signals. He knew how hard it was to be family-less. He wanted her to be connected to some part of her family, at least the good part.

"I don't want to burden them with my problems and me, at least not at this time you know? It's tough for aapi. And when she gets better I will go there, unless she has some bitterness towards me" After she said this, she realized that she called zoya "aapi". But she did look up to her, so it didn't feel wrong at all!

"Family is never a burden"

"True"

"May be you should call your aapi and find out how she's doing."

"Yea, I have nothing against her"

Asad and Zoya were having their momentary bickering when Zoya's phone rang.

"Hello"

"Zoya aapi?"

"Ji aap kaun?" There was no one who called Zoya "aapi" and so she was wondering who it was.

"Humeira, kya main aap ko aapi bula sakthi hoon?" Humeira was saddened by zoya's response.

"Of course humaira! Kaisi ho tum? Tum yahan aake raho na humare saath, please? Dekho jo kuch bhi hua, usme na tumhari galti hai aur nahi meri toh hum ko ek dusre se problem nahi honi chahiye" She sounded so sweet and chirpy that Humeira couldn't even think of saying no.

"Ji aapi, main tayyar hoon aap ke saath rehne ke liye. Maine socha ki shayad aap mujhe dekhna bhi nahi chahengi."

"Nahi, aisi koi baat nahi hai Humeira, tum bas aa jao, theek hai?"

"Ji theek hai"

"Main aati hoon aap ko lene"

"Nahi aapi, Rehaan hume choddenge. Aap chinta maat kijiye"

"Are you sure"

"Ji"

"Ok then, bye see you soon"

"Yes"

The police arrived at the Siddiqui mansion and arrested Razia and Gafur. Both of them were fuming on the inside and the glances they shot at each other were ones of frustration.

For now they were just going to jail, but they would stay there until the court hearing. Because they had been accused of several crimes they couldn't get bailed. Finally everything was falling into place.
