Kumud is sleeping and everyone comes to surprise her. Dukhba slowly kisses Kumud on her forhead. Everyone starts signing'Happy Birthday". Kumud is beaming, Saras comes to Kumud's room stands outside, he realizes that it is Kumud's Birthday. Kumud takes the blessings of the elders and her sisters hug her.Kumud tells the family that no one will scold or fight with one another. DukhBaa tells everyone that Kumud's day will start with something sweet. Dukhba tells Kusum to get the dried Maiva but Kumari volunteers.Kumari rushes to the terrace while Kusum heads to kitchen. Kumud notices Saras hiding but by the time Kumud reaches there he left and Kumud complains that he didn't even wish her.
Kumari's boyfriend come to meet her she promises to meet him at night.
VC is proudly wearing the kurta that was first dyed by her, Gunn points out that it has become old and that he should wear something else.VC refuses and says that he loves this kurta because his daughter made it. Gunn tells him that Kumud is bound to leave them one day. VC says that Kumud is his son and daughter and is equal to 100 sons. Both talk about their daughters marriage, Kumari over hears this and feels sad
Kumari enters DukhBaa's room and asks about her dad. Dukhba forbids her never to ask anything about her father again. Kumari agrees not to enquire about her father but vows to find out about her father.
Kumud is busy serving every one when Guman comes in, wishes Kumud and taunts her. Kumud changes the topic and asks about her sister. Guman informs Kumud that she got bored of India and has left for Dubai
Saras comes to the kitchen. Kumud enquires about LN. VC tells her that he has gone to jaipur but he has arranged for a big party later. Kumud tries to sunao Saras by saying that on a day when everyone is wishing, it hurts when a particular loved one does not wish, Saras understands the hint and rushes in to wish her. Before he can wish her, VC invites him in. Saras tries alot to wish her but everybody kept coming in between. VC informs Saras that LN has gone out for Saras's business , and he will back soon. Saras is very happy to hear this while Guman's is angry.
In room,Guman plans to go back to Dubai.
Kumud walks in and Maa-beti game begins wherein DukhBaa guesses Kumud's intentions .Kumud goes towards DukhBaa , sits down placing her head on DukhBaa's lap and asks for her gift .DukhBaa points out at the blue lehenga she had been stitching, Kumud is delighted and wants to wear it, DukhBaa doesn't give it to her and tells her she has to wait for it to finish.DukhBaa asks whether Saras wished her, she says no but Kumud tells her that her school kids will come to wish her and that they will have a big party.
In car,Saras desperately wants to wish Kumud but he is feeling shy.He calls and is about to wish Kumud when his father interrupts. Kumud understands that it is Saras who is on the other end, she also realizes that he is finding it difficult to wish her but she is adamant that Mr. Meethi Ladu is going to wish her in person looking into her eyes. Saras tries again and again, there Kumud tells Kusum to talk andKusum pretends that she's unable to hear him. Kumud is having fun troubling him.
