Yash is about to put his hand on his mother when Saras stops him. Saras accepts in front of everyone that he is the one who killed the cow. All the family members are shocked. The villagers bash him. Vidyachatur requests Purohitji to give him some time to talk to Saras about it as his heart says that Saras didn't do this but Saras says that he has done it. Purohitji says that the cow belonged to some Neela Behen and this cow was their only source of income.
All the villagers drag Saras away. Kumud is sure that Saras hasn't done it and runs behind them. Everyone is about to hit Saras when Kumud stops them and says that Saras is innocent. The villagers ask her for proof but she says that she doesn't have any proof but trusts him completely. (A must watch scene)
Purohitji finally gives in. He says that Saras would stay with Neela Behen and earn enough money to buy a cow. He will get only one meal per day. He will sleep outside the house on a cot irrespective of the weather. Also till then Saras would look after that family's finance. Saras agrees to all these terms.
Yash's mom packs Yash's luggage and gives him some money and tells him to flee from this place.
Some guy is sending some letter to Dubai.
Saras goes to that Behen's house and Kumud follows him there. He realizes her presence there. The people of that house scold him for what he has done and tell him to go away. They shut the door on his face.
Kumud comes and asks Saras why is he doing all this when he hasn't done anything. She is about to go and talk to those people when he holds her arm and tells her to go home. He asks her how does she know that he didn't so it. She answers him saying that she saw him go alone. He asks her why she saw him going away. She thinks to herself that she wished that she would have stopped him from going.
Kumud tells Saras that whether he wants it or not she is going to support him. She goes away and Saras thinks to himself that he wanted her to stop him from going but good she didn't otherwise he couldn't have saved Yash.
Saras's father asks Guman if she is ready to go to India. Guman asks him if he has any message for his friend. Saras's father tells Guman to tell that how much time his friend wants to stay with Kumud he should because soon they are coming there to take Kumud away. Guman says that she still remembers how magnificent Vidyachatur's house is and asks whether they can ask for it. Saras's father is shocked. Guman says she was just kidding. Saras's father goes and Guman tells to herself that she knows he is hiding something.
Vidyachatur says how can he tell Saras's father about all this. Dukhba enters and tells how can one who doesn't want to remember their mother can understand the importance of a cow. Guniyal stands up for Saras. Yash's mother enters the scene with Yash's letter which states that he is running away. The mother cries saying that everyone trusts Saras so much so the only one left is Yash and he would end up getting all the blame. Kumud enters and stands up for Saras too.
It's night time and it is very cold. Saras thinks of how Kumud stood up for him. At the same time Kumud is thinking of him too. They think how they understand each other and their pain.
Guniyal enters Kumud's room with food and asks if she should feed her. Kumud asks whether Saras would have eaten his food or not. She tells how he is doing all this for their family. She tells that he was in pain. He doesn't say anything about his eyes convey everything. Guniyal tells Kumud to do what her heart tells her to do. She says that she though she couldn't prove him innocent she wants to share the pain. Guniyal says that sharing of pain and joy is only a wife's right. She tells Kumud to do this only on a humanitarian basis. Vidyachatur is upset with the sudden turn of events and decides to go and look after Saras. Kumud follows.
Vidyachatur covers a sleeping Saras with a blanket. Saras wakes up and these two have a talk. Kumud enters. She tells her father to go home and eat and she should make sure that Saras eats the food. Vidyachatur leaves.
Kumud sits under the nearby tree and feels cold. Saras realizes this and signals whether she needs the blanket. She gets up and collects few hay and lights it. Kumud tells him to eat. He denies. She says okay fine but imagine what the family members would say when they see the full plate. Saras then agrees to eat.
Saras sits next to her and is about to have food but then asks Kumud if she had. She says that she had food long before but she actually didn't. He takes a spoonful and says that it's spicy and tells Kumud to taste it. She says it's not spicy. The same goes with the curd and the dal rice. All this was a way to make Kumud eat. (A must watch scene)
Precap: Saras sitting on a tree to pluck raw mango for a boy. Kumud is standing down and asks him to be careful. The boy asks to get him mango soon and not look at teacher.
Kumud does something and Saras catches her hand. He thinks that it's he who should do it. Kumud thinks to herself that she should definitely do it (Thanks to sreelaks)
