Once in a while examine the exterior of the chimney and check if there are any signs of damage. Get the flue inspected and cleaned by a trusted chimney sweep.

It is important that you change the filters of the air conditioning system regularly. If you have a window air conditioning unit, then you should cover it with a waterproof material to prevent damage. You should also get the stove vents, room fans and clothes dryers cleaned on a regular basis.

Don't forget to keep a check on the doors and windows for drafts, since the majority of conditioned air is lost through them. Ensure that the seal, and caulking of the window and door frame is in good condition. If required you can add heavy drapery around them as well. This will also help in blocking air infiltration.

Summers have almost begun and it's that time when grass enters the dormant stage. So, take out your lawnmower and trimmer and get them sharpened. Now, you are ready to start working on your garden.
