It's really sad how movies these days have become all about item songs, horrible stories, and making the 100+ crore club.

I haven't seen Dabangg 2 yet, so its unfair for me to make a statement on it.

However, this whole 100 crore club is utter nonsense. A film does well for many reasons:
1) Yes, star power.
2) Good script.
3) Horrible script, but star power.
4) Item numbers
5) Other songs
6) Director/Producer

Jab Tak Hai Jaan was a hit, in my opinon, because of:
1) Yash Chopra ji
2) Shahrukh Khan
3) Different story line from the movies today.
4) Anushka
5) Katrina/Shahrukh's jodi (bitter, but true fact).
6) Other reasons

Jab Tak Hai Jaan didn't appeal to some because of:
1) Shahrukh romancing girls no where close to his age.
2) Katrina Kaif (no offense meant to fans)
3) Stupid story line (difference of opinions)
4) Other reasons

Similarly Dabangg 2 is doing well because of about the same reasons mentioned above.

But this whole 100 crore club is nonsense.

Shahrukh has just as much star power as Salman and I know most will disagree on that statement.

If Shahrukh chooses bad roles, then Salman is equally guilty of the same.

Salman as starpower because even weak scripts he makes them block busters!!

yeah its all about boxoffice power...
whats the use of a psudo intellectual script or different stories when it cant make big at boxoffice and cannot add any blood in film industry veins...

its these BB and superhit films of actors like salman and some others due to which bollywood can survive and even making progress worldwide and having international level films made with big budgets due to which bollywood reached to a massive number of countries internationally

instead of ridiculing or belittling 100 cr club, we should appreciate it and the stars due to which indian film industry is on the right track as a successful business industry

I'm not trying to ridicule any 100 cr + film. There's a reason it makes it there whether it be star power or a good script.

Hats of to the movie, Salman, other co stars, and fans for the success of it.

I'm just saying a movie does not have to be in the 100 crore club to be successful.

Anyways I'm in the minority with my opinions, so idc. Its just my 2 cents.

well that post was not for u , but for many people who ridicule such films and stars everyday in various posts and threads... they dont know that if these 100cr film will stop doing huge businesses, than bollywood will again started becoming a losing prospect just like it was in early to late 80's which was the worst time of hindi cinema due to films becoming massively flop or very few of them recovered their money and made some profit..
it was 1988 QSQT of aamir and 1989 mpk of salman that put a new life in bollywood and set new trends of new kind of soft romantic family musical cinema throughout in 90's.
