Kripa is a young girl who lives in Nainital. She loves the rockstar Angad. She goes to Mumbai to enrol in a music academy, and ends up living in Angad's house due to her parents being friends of Angad's ... however they make her stay in the servants quarters! One day Angad treats Kripa rudely and she slaps him. Then Angad finds his pictures in Kripa's room and Kripa reveals that she loved him, but once she saw his real identity, she hates him. Then slowly they fall in love, and consummate.
After they consummated, Karthik, Naina, Anitah and others all created misunderstanding between Kripa and Angad, Angad thought that his and Kripa's baby is Prithvi's, and he decided to marry Mishty. When Angad realized the truth and broke off his wedding, Kripa had had a miscarriage. Then Kripa started to hate Angad. Angad secretly helped to build Kripa's career. One day this woman accused Angad of trying to rape her, but it got over quickly, I think maybe Kripa had something to do with helping Angad out of it. Angad's friend Josh told Kripa how Angad was helping her. Kripa forgave Angad and they came together. But then someone kept trying to attack Kripa and Angad... Josh found out that it was Prithvi! Simone, Angad's ex-girlfriend, entered the story. She got Angad drunk, laid him on a bed and lied to him when he woke up, saying that she had slept with Angad. Prithvi killed Josh, and the blame went to Angad. Kripa testified in court against Angad, and then Angad found out that Simone had lied to him, but by then he was in jail.
11 months later, Kripa, married to Prithvi now, went with Anitah and her husband, Naina, Mishty etc. to Dubai. There Kripa gets the news that Angad has died in jail! Then she keeps seeing Angad everywhere, and one day she sees that he is the rockstar Zeb. Kripa finds out that Angad is Zeb, and tricks him into revealing that on a tape. She goes to play the tape at a party, but Angad switches it. Then Kripa and Prithvi go to Zeb's house, and Kripa consummates with Prithvi making sure that Angad sees!
Kripa divorces Prithvi and marries Angad (she marries Angad out of wont for revenge, but she still sometimes went to Prithvi and slept on his bed!) Later she finds out that Prithvi is the one who murdered Josh. Prithvi tries to kill Simone (who turns over a new leaf) but he is found out, shot, and he slips into a coma. Then Kripa and Angad are happy together, Kripa is pregnant... but she finds out it is Prithvi's child, not Angad's! Damini (Prithvi's mom) takes full advantage of this and makes Kripa visit Prithvi in hospital or she will tell Angad. Meanwhile, it's revealed that Naina is not Angad's real mom; Dilip had another wife Avantika, who lives with a young lady Kanan. Angad finds out and Kanan moves into the Khanna household (Avantika just disappears for some reason; one episode she's there, next she's gone)
Angad finds out and is angry at first but then is fine with it. Kripa has a daughter Sur, and Mishty comes back and is good now, she helps Angad's career. However Kripa's friend keeps trying to convince Kripa that Mishty and Angad are having an affair. Then Angad one day gets angry and hits her, and a watchman outside thinks he has raped her. Then Angad is dragged into court, Kripa testifies against him but Kanan saves him. Angad hates Kripa. When Kripa reaches home, she sees Angad with 4 girls in the bedroom! He tells Kripa to leave forever. Kripa leaves Sur with Angad.
5 years later, Kripa is now Tanya Chaudhary and lives with a man Nishant (Mr. Punctual) and his nephews Bhim and Bali. Kripa has also got a 5-year-old son (of hers and Angad) named Prateek. Sur, meanwhile, is a spoilt brat and Angad takes the credit. One day, Prateek and Sur get into a fight! It's Sur's fault, but Angad believes her lie and shouts at Prateek, who then hates Angad. Kripa sees how spoiled Sur is, and one day she is taking care of Sur on the beach and Sur picks a fight with a boy! Kripa goes to slap her and Angad stops her hand and then sees who she is!
