I don't get the part of the jewellery case because a portkey is supposed to be something that Muggles would't bother look at.

It could be a time-turner.

Hermione wore it as a necklace.

It took her back in time.

She always tucked it under her jacket.

it was the solution to saving sirius and buckbeak.

The riddle is challenging.

And Cutecj by the 'jewellery case' I meant that the portkey could be anything.
