Part 8

It was night time and Rey was in the basketball court. The words from the letter replayed in his head. He felt like hating himself for loving such a girl like Kriya. He couldn't figure out everything but her words just filled his heart with hatred. He couldn't help himself from questioning 'why'.

"Why did you do this to me Kriya? Why? You made a mockery out of my feelings for you. Why did I let myself love you?" The night passed away with him grieving over the moments spent with Kriya and the harsh reality he learned of from the letter. For the first time in his life, he cried.

(A/N: I'm sorry but I can't hurt myself by writing such a sad scene. Please just imagine it the way it was in the show minus the spiteful words Kriya had said to him') But by morning, he made up his mind to continue living for those who held love for him. His friends loved him and he decided to put on a smile for them.

Kriya woke up in the morning and decided to check her mail in hope for one from Vishakha. They had exchanged emails to stay in touch. And to her luck, there was one from her. It was sent late the previous night. She quickly opened it to read it.

"Kriya' what do I say. I miss you already so much! And RDX sir told others that you have left the school today. The letter that you had given for Swayam' he has got it and as far as I can tell, Swayam read it with Rey. So he knows. Be happy now. Rey is going to hate you for sure. Neha is very sad of course and I just couldn't stay around them and pretend. I left but we are all going to miss you. Like we aren't already' Anyway, RDX has asked us to find a new dancer to replace you and an AGS as well. How silly is he? He doesn't know that you are irreplaceable. That is all the news of here. How are you? How's things going there? Reply back soon."

Kriya replied back with:

"Vish, I'm so happy to hear from you. Only Swayam? What about the letter I sent to Rey? You will never believe what happened after we left. Mom convinced me to write Rey a letter and at least tell him the truth. I did. If Swayam got the letter, then why not Rey? And hope you guys find a good dancer to help you all win. And don't be so cheesy. I'm sure in a few months' time; no one will even miss me. Another Kriya will come along. I'm fine' Trying to move on in life. College here starts today for me. You stay in touch and keep on replying and telling news about there. Please check on that letter' Something is fishy' Miss you all a lot as well."

In college, Vishakha's phone beeped when Kriya sent that message. Just like Kriya, she opened it immediately and read it. She wanted to reply to it but couldn't as Neha and Bharat came up to her with a sad face. "Hey'" And so the rest of the day went away with classes and none of them in the mood for any talks. It just wasn't the same with Kriya there. Vishakha kept on replaying Kriya's words in her head. She simply couldn't figure out what could have happened to the letter! How can one be there and not the other? I have to do something and find out!!

Vishakha walked around everywhere looking for Swayam. She finally found him in the basketball court. She rushed to him and he stopped seeing her. She took in deep breath and brought her heart back to normal. "Swayam' I've looked everywhere for you' Do you have the letter from Kriya?"

"Uh' yea' yea, it's right here in my bag' why?" he asked confused.

"Can I see it?" she asked and the tone told Swayam to not question her and just give it to her. He did and she read it from top to bottom for about 5 times, not knowing what exactly to look for.

At last, she announced, "This letter is not from Kriya."

"What?!" he asked back in shock.

"I mean she did write this but not all of this. See, here in the end, it seems to be added in. The ink is darker than the above part and also, notice the handwriting. Kriya doesn't write her capital R's like that and she never signs her name like that. Her name is always signed in cursive with lower case K and the R's are different as well."

Swayam took the letter from her hand to deeply examine it to only realize she was right. "How could I have not noticed it before?!" he sort of blamed himself for being careless and actually believing Kriya would write this.

"How did you know something was wrong with the letter?" he asked, curious that it was her who knew something was wrong even though she had never read it.

"I'm sorry' I can't tell you Swayam."

The only conclusion he could make out of this was, "You know everything, don't you? You know the reason why she left?"

She couldn't lie to him' not to Swayam' she couldn't. "I do' BUT it's not my story to tell' She doesn't want anyone to know and I've promised. I'm sorry Swayam."

He was disappointed but could understand Vishakha's position as well. "It's okay Vishakha' If anyone should know about promises, it's me. But the letter' why would someone do this?"

She had a suspect in mind. "I have one person in mind' I only have a suspicion' no hard proof or anything, so I could be wrong. But I do know that this isn't the letter Kriya wrote and there is one more thing'" He looked at her asking her to continue. She did. "She has written another letter' to Rey."

"Rey'! Rey needs to know about this. I'll call him right now!"

Vishakha stopped him and it puzzled him. "Don't' not until we find any concrete evidence' I don't want to bring up his hopes for no reason' He's already going through enough."

Swayam could see sense in it and put his phone away. "Who do you think would do this?" He then asked.

Vishakha told him what she thought. "Shivam' the only person who has a problem with us is him."

He could agree to that. "It won't be the first time. He's completely capable of it and especially after what happened the other night."

"Other night?" she questioned. He explained.

"Yea'Sharon slapped him' He does seem the type to do anything to have his revenge. Maybe he wants to hurt him by hurting her best friend'"

"Rey." She completed for Swayam, understanding the whole motive behind this all.

"I can just kill that *******." She cursed out.

"We have no proof though. This is all just hypothetical accusations. We need to find the real letter."

"We will" she assured him. "If anything we can still do for Rey and Kriya is give them their love back. He needs to know Kriya loves him deeply and that she's waiting."

"You seem to know awfully lot love, being a tomboy, you know that?" he teased her.

"Hey! I might not dress up like a doll but I do understand everyone's emotions!" she replied back and their smile was back. It would only be a matter of time before Rey's smile would return as well.
