Jia Mustafa plays the negative shaded Pooni in Zee TV and Balaji Telefilms' Pavitra Rishta. However, not many know that the girl who has done quite a lot of cameos on television had initially auditioned for the role of Ovi and not Pooni.
Talking about it, Jia who was earlier working as a production intern tells , "I auditioned for Ovi's role but bagged the negative role of Pooni instead. However, I am happy with the way my character is shaping up. I accepted to play the negative lead as it was very challenging. And I have been getting a good response so far. Having said this, I will not take up a negative role from now on, and will want to play a positive one in future".
On her friends in the industry, she says, "Asha Negi (Purvi), Shruti Kanwar (Ovi) and Rithvik Dhanjani (Arjun) are my best friends".
