Hey guys:
This is English translation of the interview with Anas Rashid in sheela shaguna and Meenakshi. I especially did this for anyone who does not understand hindi very well. I myself, isn't that amazing at hindi. Infact never learnt it but i'm awesome at english so here you go. I felt like doing the translation. I hope no one has posted this, sorry if it has been posted before. I Love Anas so much that i actually bothered to translate everything word to word! i can watch the interview 10 billion times so i thought why not write the interview for anyone who wants to read it aswell. i know it's not going to be as amazing as his VOICE. but i tried to write it . hope you like it.
Enjoy.
It is rather LONG.
damn the interview was 18:40 but it took me more than hour to write it!
Sheela, Shagun and Meenakshi.
Rajasthan's famous halwai Suraj is with us, he has made lots of jalebi's and has fed many people, but today in sheela, shagun and meenakshi will feed you Jalbei.
Anas: Oh jalebi's. Feed me quickly so that i can rank you on how well the jablebi's are.
Shagun: This, actually i didn't make it myself.
Anas: hmm, so you ordered this from outside.
Yeah.
Anas: From where?
From your town pushkar
Anas: oh, from my street hanuman gali.
so do you recognise the taste. eat and tell us.
{he eats so cutely !! ☺️ }
Is it delicious ?
It's a little cold, I came late so it's gone a little cold.
Tell us one thing, you are master in psychology, right now, sitting down, what is going on in your head?
Anas: Right now, I'm thinking that what aspect of my life are you going to ask me about. I don't know what you will ask me, because i'm on this show for the first time, and you must have seen me before working in other shows doing different roles. So if i know one point about you, you know 3 other points about me. So you're more powerful than me. So i'm a little scared.
There are women that are powerful.
Anas: yes, and that too three of you.
Do you think we're less than bhabho?
Anas: no, not bhabho.. you have modern thinking, educated.
Sheela: You suraj, are an ideal husband and son. You're exactly like a good son that one family wants. Any wife would want a husband like you. Does this become burden on you? You're not educated but wife is. One very understanding husband, that understands that if something happens between mother and wife, then how to solve the problems. I think this must have been every husbands issue that who to support, mother or wife? There's a sandwich between the two.
Anas: yes yes that's true. I thought too much, and finally i made a decision, lets do one thing. I am already bhabho's son, for the past 25 years and will be for the next 25 years, will always be, even if i become 50. Lets do one thing, One who has is new to the house, treat her like a little child. Treat her like a child. how little children unintentionally slap us on the face, we don't mind. So forgive her for all her mistakes and move on. And you treat her like a child. So you fulfill all her wishes.
Sheela: husband must be understanding for that?
Anas: No not really, I think this kind of understanding is in all humans. {aww how sweet, i wish people would be that understanding, the world is becoming so selfish these days. 🤢}
What is the meaning of your name, Anas?
Anas: Anas means human. This is one of the word in urdu. It's a singular of human(s). This means, you can check it in urdu dictionary, that says human/person.
A little while ago you were telling us that we haven't heard of this name before? After some time, we will get to hear this name a lot, it will become popular.
Anas: yes it will become very famous because they're a child right now. Meaning the people who have started using this name for their son
Oh meaning? People have already started naming their sons Anas?
Anas: yes yes. It has already started from my house street. It's already going to reach in town/city.
I remember this thing where before it use to be a generation of 'Nawab' (muslim baby names) then there came a period of actors(naming babies actors famous actors names) after that there was a period of politicians. meaning we are going through each generation., so i see that whoever is famous icon these days, like in politics or in sports or even city's don. Whoever, is famous at that time, mothers of that period names their babies after them.
Tell us one thing, how did you manage to come to Mumbai?
Anas: this happened very co-indecently. I had no intention. I learnt first chapter of acting when i came Mumbai. Before that i never knew A B C of acting. { realllyyy? well in that case, you have such amazing talent!! love your acting so much 👍🏼 }
But in college, juniors, seniors, students use to tell me that your personality is very nice.
Meenakshi: You look like a hero?
Anas: yes, you look like hero, that's what i use to hear from other people at college.
Shagun: so it's got fixed into her head, that if i look like hero, then i will become hero.
Anas: No no it didn't stay in mind so much. I still had lots of doubts about myself { aww, well no more doubts because you are too good actor!} I still thought acting was not my business, I'm okay-ish, normal ordinary person. But they pushed me so much, and what i saw in their eyes was something different like..confidence and truth, they were not just saying it for the sake of saying. They actually meant it, honestly. So after that, there was a competition in Ludhina, i luckily became winner of the competition. Mr Punjab, Mr Ludhina.
meenakshi: mr Punjab, wow! {indeed, woww! he is such a sweetie pie! 😳}
Sheela: so that opened whole lot new windows for you.
Anas: No no after that there were so many new problems that started. So much problems.
Meenakshi: what type of problems?
Anas: Lots of girls became my fan, I started getting blank calls, prank calls. meaning my time started dividing. After that there was so much responsibilities. Then i did one punjabi video. After one, there was demand for second and then demand for third. and more. Then i thought this is too much now. What i had to do, i did it. No more.
Sheela: but you came to become a film actor in the acting class.
Anas: yes, i got so much experience from the acting class. I learnt so much. But then i thought, i should say something from my mouth. In the acting class, i only had to do acting, meaning just expressions or lisping/sync of a singer voice. No actual voice.
Then i thought, lets try it. expectations are high. Mother and father had wish, that if you want to do it, then do it seriously. No joking around. I use to take my bike and ride off, take car and drive off somewhere for 2-3 days you don't come back. And you just call from there, that i'll come after 2 days. They were worried, what do i actually do? we don't know. Because there was no supporting factor in my family, that supports me for this line (acting). So whatever i was doing was done privately. No was was told much.
sheela: Even now, acting is not a profession from where you come. Meaning, like some become doctor, engineering. So is there any actors from your background.
Anas: no no, there is no one in the neighborhood.
Sheela: family was a little upset when you started acting.
Anas: Yes true. We only got TV 10 years ago. only 10 years ago, meaning we were young teenagers then, but we weren't allowed tv in our house. TIll My grandfather was alive, we werent allowed to bring tv. He said, TV is not allowed in my home.
Meenakshi: You come from such simple living background, how did you fit into Mumbai's fast moving life? Did you not face any difficulties to connect with mumbai lifestyle?
Anas: no not at all. because even in my city, i have always been top in whatever field i did. I have worked in so many fields. but no field satisfied me till now. meaning i started a restaurant, and even before that i did so much work.
Shagun: Oh you started a resturant? where? in delhi?
Anas: no, no in punjab.
Meenakshi: oh tell us one thing, you said earlier that after becoming Mr Punjab, you faced lot of girl issues.
Shagun: Meenakshi, do you know that he has already had 3 girlfriends. Meaning, we have read it somewhere. we don't know, if you have 3 or 6. only you can tell us.
Anas: haha.. those 3 are probably the ones i have mentioned before somewhere.
Sheela: oh no maybe now you must have forgotten the number of girlfriends you had.
Anas: no it's not like that. even today, the phonebook has phone number list so long that i don't need to explain.
Sheela: what types of girls have you faced, girl fans that write you mail?
Shagun: Any girl that was a big problem? who was reallly crazyy, totally mad about you? Who did you find so dangerous ?
Anas: Oh there was a girl from Hydrabad, She keeps calling me, so so many times. 1 day, 2 days, 3 days. 5-6 days i have ignored her calls. So co-indecently i was in the same area one day, where she was telling me that she was also in the same area. So i said, alrite, i'm sitting here, if you want to meet me then come. And actually she came. And she one that sort of person that i got really shocked. i think she was just 17 or 16 years old girl, wearing burkhaa (muslim veil) And she came down from hydrabad, and she was saying that she i have been staying on this bus stop for the last 9 days ! Just to meet me. So i got a little scared. If something happens, on the paper there will be my name. Then i will be trapped. then I somehow managed to get away from her, Then somehow i manged to call my female friend, because i'm a men, i can't tackle her alone. I called my female friend, and told her that somehow take her to your house. No not send her to her own house, because there was no chance that at midnight, at police station, what train ? So she tells me that i will go with you. I don't know where, anywhere, i came for you. I didn't know where to keep her, I live alone, no family. So after that i called another friend, told her that take care of the crazy fan. And i stayed up all night, at 4:30 -5:00 in the morning i dropped her to the train station, I called her mum and talked to her, that your daughter is here with me, she is on the train now comign home. I made her write on a paper that I came on this date and going on this date. And told the coolie that please don't let her get off the train anywhere in between. Just straight to hydrabad.
Meenakshi: your friends kept telling you that you could become hero, did anyone say that you can go hollywood?
Anas: yes, i have heard that a lot. Yes i have been told many times. I really want to go hollywood.
Sheela: via bollywood or straight to hollywood?
Anas: No i think it's better to go via bollywood.
Meenakshi: its better? But it's definite that you will go hollywood?
Anas: yes definitely, chances right now are bright, because national and internation cinemas are becoming more integrated(coming together) And right now, from what family background i am, i have not asked fro any permission or advice from them to get into this industry. Whatever i did, i did it myself, with hardwork. So i think, by working hard i can get to this stage, then i will also get to hollywood.
Shagun: what if by the time you reach there, you become Anil Kapoor's age?
Anas: then the chances are even high. It would be lot better. Because i think after 45 you get more popularity, as a men.
Sheela: so first settle properly in TV, then hindi film industry, and then when he gets older go into hollywood.
Sagun: Ok so now time for quick liners. Because you are a halwai, i will say a name of the actor and you tell me which meethai you will feed them and why.
Anas: hmm okay.
Shagun: Rakhi sawant -
Anas: mooti chur ka laadu, because she will stay unhappy either way. (impliying marriage realtionship)
Shagun: Veena Maalik
Anas: Burnt jalebi because she will still eat it and say WOW, it was so sweet.
ShagunL Katrina kaif:
Anas: Kaju katri - she will say no more because i'm on dieting.
Shagun: kareena kapoor
Anas: Rasgulla because i'm on my way to gaining weigh.
Shagun: Priyanka
Anas: Dal baati churma.
Shagun: okay so one time if you get stuck into the life with Veena Maalik and Rakhi Sawant, would would happen to you?
Anas: what would happen to me? nothing, there are respectable women..
Shagun: No no, what about their fights?
Meenakshi: didn't you hear.. respectable women.. haha
Anas: yeah respectable women, they might not speak to each other directly, maybe they just think to themselves about me, and till then my lift will reach the fourth floor.
Meenakshi: Tell us one thing, one wrestler and psychology studies are poles apart, it can be seen as that. So how has psychology helped you in acting?
Anas: a Lot. I mean there isn't any limitation to it. Actually all the experience i have gained i have seen it as words. That was my study. And the things that lack in me, that i thought is a problem i me. Then i thought, these kind of problems have been around for past 100 years, and it will continue. sot it's not just with me, meaning i recieved justification of that thing. In all the experience in life, i use to think i was a failure, or nothing statisfied me. don't know how i will recieve satisfaction. But during study, when i read it as words, i will give credit to my life experience but also to my study. because i have studied it thoroughly. Like if someone has written one line, then why have they written it? what time was it written in, what age was it written in.
Sheela: so you get inside everything.
Anas: Yes..i LOL (wrong ideas..! their laugh craked me up! }
Sheela: meanign you get into the depth of something. study in detail.
Sheela: one thing came into my mind, when you did pruthvi raj chauhan, rajat was very famous so the credit you deserved then you didn't get as much as you did after becoming sooraj.
Anas: no it's nothing like that, I also got lots of credit there but i didn't have expectation that i would be able to do it for so long as rajat. And luckily we both did the same time period, 18 months each.
As for the popularity i ..
Shagun: we're talking about Pruthvi raj chauhan, hey that is what i was wodering that you were in there back then..
Anas: yes i was. oh my god yes i was. what is this? {love his sarcasm expressions!}
Shagun: We meant that your claim to fame is because of your character sooraj. because maybe bak then you were in so much get up, makeup. and all. So i think people have come to know you and became popular because of sooraj's character.
Anas: that i think is because you see sooraj everywhere, sooraj is seen a lot on tv interms of quantity. 5 times a week and repeat telcast 5 times a day. (REALLY? well, sad i only watch it online, cos UK is so behind with airing! ) Yeah sooraj is always available. on the TV and you see sooraj. Any news channel, sooraj is there sitting and giving interview.
Shagun: lots of your female fans will want to know that when will you get married?
Anas: hmm Marriage?
Shagun: or right now is there any girl in your life?
Anas: not one, there are many girls. {LOL good one. }
Shagun: no a definite serious girl.
Anas: No there isn't any girl like that.
Shagun: okay when are you getting married?
Anas: I haven't even thought 1% about it. to be very honest.
meenakshi: so whenever you get married, how important is family's consent?
Anas: At least 95% consent of family. 5% my own choice in where i will tell my opinion on she is like this and that.
meenakshi: It would be 95% of family's choice, because long before i started dreaming of marriage, my parents did first.
Sheela: you will become sooraj in actual fact?
Anas: Speechless haha. yes bhabhoo's sooraj.
Shagun: What type of girl do you want?
Anas: I want someone who is very simple, or very intelligent.
Shagun: who is IPS officer?
Anas: No i don't want a girl that does any profession.
Shagun: homemaker?
Meenakshi: wrestling, psychology are your different shades. And one of the other one is singing.
Anas: yes singing..
Sheela: you sing well right?
Anas: people say that.. uh
meenakshi: oh so its with people, people said you are a hero and you became a hero.
Anas: no, i feel that if it was anything like that, then i would be a singer. but i'm not. but when i use to sing, people use to say i sing very well.
Meenakshi: Okay sign us one song pelase?
Anas: OH. (loved how it did it! lol! so sweet! and then his amazing smile and laugh. 😍 )
Sheela: beautiful and entertainign song.
Anas: sings a lovely short song. I have no idea what that song is but it sounded awesome. :)
Okay that's it from the interview.
Hope you forgive me for any spelling/grammar mistakes!!
