I somewhat disagree with many of the senio members of the forum on that Arati did not genuinely try to gel in the family even if she said she wasn;t. currently she is saying that because she is in a guilt ridden state that yash got shot because of her and maybe the family members are right in accusing her...otherwise from day one she has shown to take the household duties and commitment with ofcource no encouragement or appreciation from the seniors.@Jaya: That's an interesting viewpoint. Leaving aside their extreme behavior, if one looks at the Scindias' pov, it certainly seems that Aarti was only going through the motions of being a bahu, but her heart was with settling Ansh...a fact she confesses today. They had all the right to be upset with her...but the solution is not banishment. All that was required was a plain talking to and making her understand her folly, at the same time making efforts to make her and Ansh feel at home. Fact is both parties were at fault, yet only one got punished.
This issue once again defines Aarti's unidimensional character. Like Samana says, Aarti never listens in entirety. Prashant's main grouse with Aarti, something that he reiterated in Mandir meeting, was that she only thinks of herself. Here, the Scindias' (Yash too, before the kidnapping) main problem is she only thinks of Ansh. Prashant had to leave her for her to realize that lack in her...and now an almost-fatal injury to Yash pushes her into the realization that she has a marriage and a family also to take care of. Aarti needs to absorb much of Vidhi's ways to be able to multitask. With Dubeys, she had a lot of leeway, for obvious reasons...but here she has to wear more than one hat at a time...that of a wife, mother, bahu, aunt, and sis-in-law. She needs to attain that balance...a fact she understood too late.
@Shalgo: Sorry...I just have enough time at the moment for a quick reply. I don't think any of us are refuting Aarti's intentions or her commitment. I only pointed out how she must come across to Scindias. There has to be a reason that they became so anti her...and that reason was her preoccupation with Ansh.
This is the line of difference between my thinking and others...My point is for god knows what reason, gayatri and bua was always anti her from first day of wedding and remains so and that is what made her even more protective towards ansh...My point is that she did not do anything which made others turn against her...and actually no one in the family (including her hubby) except sr scindias are anti her even now...Which proves my point...Only exception is Mr. Scndia who has tranisitonined from being in the grey towards Arati to being totally Anti-Arati.She did admit that in all honesty today. That doesn't absolve the Sr Scindias of their faults.Yash's sermon to her on the morning of the kidnapping was because of this issue only...though we all know that he understands her a lot better than the older lot. Aarti just has to open up a little...that's all...which she'll do now after her return, and we'll all see the difference.I respect your views, and do hope I was able to put my point across. 😊

But this is not a negative tirade against Aarti. I love the girl to bits and admire her courage for standing up and accepting everything that she had done wrong, without pointing fingers at anyone else's mistakes and their contribution to the situation. She does make mistakes but the important thing, and real strength, lies in identifying them and wanting to fix things with a burning passion. Imagine, what we saw so far was Aarti whose heart was not in it! I cannot wait to see the miracles she works on the girls and Yash when her heart is.
@Shalgo @ funbuklover...It is great to hear your views.
To be honest, you are not off-base at all. In fact, many of us agree with your views about Aarti. The characterization of Aarti is so wonderful that she moves us to tears in one episode and makes us pull our hair out in the next. No character is entirely white or black, good or evil, but shows so many shades of grey. She has her good qualities and she has her faults. Hence, we defend Aarti one moment, and in the other, berate her for impulsively speaking out of turn, without understanding the audience or the context. But we all love her.
With Bua, we know why she's anti Aarti, right? Aarti is living out Bua's own deep desires, right in front of her. Aarti has got a new lease of life, while she was deprived. It is envy and jealousy. Plain and simple. With G3 however, it is multi-layered. We have discussed G3 thread-bare too in the past analysis units. Her problem is her insecurity, her need to make herself relevant and respected by her bahus. But Aarti is one who seems to be defying her at every turn. Right from the beginning, G3 never had issues with Aarti, she only had issues with Aarti-Ansh combo pack. When G3 was overruled time and again when she wanted to leave Ansh behind, she became anti-Aarti. And Aarti disobeyed her in so many instances, without understanding her personality (compare with Paridhi's approach), that it was inevitable that G3 would worsen her stance.
And we know why Papa Scindia transitioned. Because his sons and DILs were questioning his decisions and he needed to stay in control.
And there's no doubt that Aarti/Ansh have received second class treatment even before the D-Day. The Sr. Scindias have their views and rigid expectations, which are not being met. It would be hard to defend the Scindias in any way from our point of view, but from their point of view, things are quite different. Which is why Aarti, in her inability to view things from any other perspective other than hers finds herself in a situation yet again, which apparently she herself does not want to be in.
