Krishna runs around the palace looking for Sudama, who tearfully takes a last look @ everything before leaving. On the way, Krishna sees Udhav & Savitri and asks them whether they've seen Sudama. Savitri suggests that he must be in his room, but Krishna says he's not there. He continues his search, while Savitri tells Udhav that he's needlessly hurt someone whom Krishna himself loves.
Krishna continues running barefoot on the streets, looking for Sudama, while all the people are surprised to see him that way. After searching for a while, Krishna spots Sudama and chases him and ultimately catches up w/ him.
Krishna asks him how Sudama could abandon a friend in this manner? He tells Sudama that he understands that Udhav's words would have hurt him a lot, but that's no reason to punish himself, Krishna or their friendship. Sudama tells Krishna that Udhav has opened his eyes, and he is very grateful for this.
Sudama tells Krishna that he had been selfish, which Krishna contradicts, pointing out that to that day, he had not asked for a drop of water himself, and whatever he had was what Krishna wanted to give him. So the question of selfishness didn't arise. He tells Sudama that he's attained this prosperity after a great deal of hardship, and begs him to enjoy it some more. He asks Sudama whether it wasn't the duty of a friend to stick w/ his friend when he's in pain. Sudama tells him that Udhav was right in that he had never exerted himself, and he had got so much from Krishna, and had no way of repaying him. Krishna was hurt that Sudama could use the term 'repay' in the context of a friendship. Sudama begs him to allow him to stand on his own 2 feet from this day onwards.
Krishna tells Sudama that it seems that he has stopped regarding him either as a friend and as a deity. Sudama begs him not to say that, saying that his bhakt is the only reason he lives. He then turns and walks away, but his staff falls, and he turns around and goes to Krishna, weeping. He stretches out his arms to hug him, and this time, Krishna, after some hesitation does so. Sudama then takes his leave and goes.
Comments: A pretty emotional episode, and would have been really terrific had it been authentic. Besides that aspect, the character profiles of Krishna & Sudama seemed to be switched - Krishna was more detached from such relationships than has been portrayed here, whereas Sudama would have been less likely to leave had Krishna asked. Also very strange is Krishna telepathically divining what's going on b/w Udhav & Sudama, and not stopping that if he really wants Sudama to remain: or else, if he agreed w/ Udhav, why not just have a normal sendoff like the first time they split?
It looked like the CVs were trying to re-create the magic of the first Sudama track, but it makes a major difference on whether a track is authentic or not. I'm just a tad disappointed, I'd have loved Sudama to be in Dwarka & watch TV w/ Jambavati, Satyabhama & Udhav while Krishna is on his various adventures elsewhere.
