24.1.12-Different Approaches of Uddhava and Sudama

Uddhava and Sudama are returning to Dwarka. We have a background song here- 'Radha has done the great Welfare  to Uddhava  by giving him  the Ultimate Knowledge. Uddhava has realised that Love is the path of Happiness. Being touched by Love in such a way, Uddhava is chanting only the name of RadhaKrishna'. With this song, they enter the palace and meet Krishna. 

Krishna notices that Uddhava has the mud of Vraj all over his body. Uddhava touches his feet, uttering 'Prabhu'. Krishna asks Uddhava about Vraj, how was his tour, how are the Gopis and Radha? Do they remember Him or not? But then, He says by asking such a qs, He is just curbing their (the Gopis' or Radha's) freedom (/right) to love Him, their whole 'existence' are dedicated to Krishna. Uddhava is in tears and unable to reply, so Sudama answers that all is not well in Vrindavan. Radha and the Gopis are experiencing the pain in the separation of the Lord. They keep asking everyone about the next arrival of Krishna in Vrindavan.

Now Uddhava falls at the feet of the Lord. He says it is Krishna who has given him the Knowledge today, He has removed the veil of Ego from his eyes. His Knowledge bows down in front of the Love of Radha and the Gopis. Now Savitri enters, and Uddhava continues that even being a wise person, still, he was far from the Truth, which he has realised today. Savitri says that Uddhava is right. Krishna has also made her realise the same truth today. Uddhava says he is unable to express his gratitude to Krishna. Krishna answers that actually it is Radha, who deserves this credit.

Now Kishna remembers Radha and she appears there. Krishna says He is grateful to her as she has shown the right path to Uddhava. Radha says anything given to her by Krishna is most favourite to her! But she has only one request, that in future, Krishna should never send any message which could break the patience( / expectation of the Lord) in her. Krishna asks for forgiveness and says that he won't repeat the same mistake again. Now (with the song 'Radhe Krishna Krishna, Radhe Krishna Krishna', playing in the background) Savitri-Uddhava and Sudama- all pay their respect to the 'yugal murti' of Radha-Krishna, a Divine Halo emerges from them!! Shiv-Partvati, Brahma, and all the other gods also offer their resepcts/ flowers to the 'yugal murti', and They bless all of them.

Next day morning, Sudama and Uddhava are doing 'Surya Pranaam'.  Sudama says after meeting the Gopis and witnessing their love, everything seems to be so Beautiful now! When the love, felt by the heart, comes to the eyes, then the whole world seems so Wonderful! He is very happy that Uddhava has got the Knowledge of Love from the Gopis and now his knowledge is complete. At first Uddhava remains silent, then he says that yes he has completed his knowledge, but Sudama is yet to complete his Knowledge. Sudama is surprised and replies that his 'whole being' is 'for' the lord,. what is more there to learn now? Uddhava says yes there is still the harsh truth of life out there for him to learn. Sudama says, he will learn that too if Uddhava gives him company, in the same was as Sudama himself has accompanied him in the Gurukul of Gokul/ Vraj. Uddhava says he could take the lessons from Vraj because he always had the inquisitiveness about Knowledge in him. But Sudama, in the place of correcting his limitations,  is hiding them, behind his 'Krishna prem'.

JV comes to Krishna and asks Him why is He worried now? As Uddhava has learnt his lessons. Krishna replies that His aim behind sending both of them to Vraj was not only to make Uddhava realise about Love, but the other aim was to make them 'understand' each other so that they could share 'mutual respect'. But they have So Different Thinking patterns!. On one hand, Sudama is very emotional and always thinks from his heart. On the other, Uddhava who is a knowledgeable person, who never gets overwhelmed by emotions/ feelings and always considers everything only WRT logic. Krishna wants a 'medium path/ area' where both of them can meet. But JV says in spite of being so opposite of each other, still they are friends. But Krishna says, this friendship is very weak till now, any adverse situation can cause a break up between the two. May be this quietness (temporary friendship) is a sign of a big trouble coming in future. 

Uddahav comes to his room and tells Savitri to start packing as they will be returning home on the next day. Savitri is surprised and says they haven't spent even one week in Dwarka yet! Uddhava answers that in the presence of Sudama, he can't stay there anymore. Uddhava learning the lesson of love from vraj- this incident has made Sudama think that he is a more wise person than Uddhava. But the truth is that Uddhava is indeed grateful for the lessons of love from Vraj, still, he doesn't support the foolish debate of Sudama. He will go to Krishna now to inform Him about their departure on the next day. 

Sudama comes to Krishna's room and could not find him, so as he was returning, Krishna comes and says that he has some dress/ attires which He wants to show to Sudama. Sudama replies that he is more interested in the 'thaali' or flowers to do the 'aarti' of the Lord, he knows nothing about clothes. Krishna persists and shows them. Sudama appreciates them that they'll look good on Krishna. But Krishna requests him to wear them. Sudama refuses, but Krishna says he must wear so that Krishna can see them on anyone's body to get an idea how will they look after wearing. He requests Sudama not to be stubborn and then Sudama agrees (as he realises that his action will make his Lord happy). Krishna starts playing His flute. Sudama appears in colourful clothes ('dhoti'). Krishna becomes very happy to see him. He gives him the 'uttariya' as well as the ornaments. Sudama feels very awkward but Krishna says from now onwards He wants Sudama to wear such clothes which suits him or which are appropriate for him.  Sudama replies that he has already received enough from the Lord, he is there with his Lord and experiencing the happiness of all the three worlds and of seven births. Now Krishna asks Sudama to promise that he will never deprive Krishna of his friendship, that he will always be the same friend to the Lord. Sudama is moved by this statement and expresses that it is indeed his good luck that he is considered as 'sakha' of Krishna by all. He is grateful for that. He wants nothing more. Krishna is everything to him, without Krishna Sudama is nothing. 

By this time Uddhava and Savitri are about the enter the room and they have watched the whole interaction between Krishna-Sudama. Uddhava says to Savitri that Sudama is happy after getiing the valuable clothes and ornaments but still, he wants to teach me lessons!
