Is it worth it?

Reading the interview of Gajendra Singh regards SRGMP, some thoughts went thru the mind, just wanted to see if you guys(and gals) agree/disagree

Zee TV did a 2 year contract with all the top 10 contestants, such that they will not be able to perform on their own(well Vineet and Himani are out in Dubai in a concert)

Zee TV has not organized a single concert for all the top 10 singers till date. The winner Debojit got a 2 year flat(basically 3-4 lacs in rent) and a album contract(dont know when/if that will materialize)

so the other 9 have to rely on playback offers or concerts organized by Zee

Also being a part of a concert these guys would have gotten like 1-2 lacs/concert, that is what they all are loosing. Also many of the young kids lost a year of college in SRGMP

The other option is playback singing, well some of them are doing playback singing, according to numbers I have seen on the forum, playback of a song can get a singer like 5 thousand/10 thousand maybe 20 thousand

Alisha Chinai got 25 thousand for Kajra re, so these singers are not even going to get that much

so for next 2 years these kids have their career in a bind, their face value is the highest due to the show's popularity, but they cannot do concerts and after 2 years nobody would recognize them, since a new batch of SRGMP C2006 might be out there

Whereas Zee got to the 2nd spot based upon this show

Having said all that

for the candidates

Was all of this worth it?

would it have been a better move to go to Indian Idol?(they certainly have done 100% better job in promoting their singers than Zee has)

I was also thinking the same.. Few days back i read a article about the Ruunerup from Cinekhoj (or something) from Zee.. He was accusing that Zee is not helping him.. But Zee told that they won't do anything to a Runnerup...

Besides losing 1 year of acedemy class. these kids will be binded to Zee...

Sony is much better than Zee..

When Zee started SRGMP05 They told that this compitation is searching for Hero n Heroine voice, there will be 2 winners and all od sudden they changed into Voice of India.
