Would love to hear Geeta's Bengali songs.
She did have such a different voice - husky and sexy. It's tragic that Guru Dutt didn't stick to his gem of a wife and stopped her from singing.

My all time favourite of hers is "hoon abhi main jawan ai dil" from Aar Paar.

I think Asha overshadowed her because her voice was more polished. If you hear duets of Asha and Geeta such as "kya ho phir ke din rangeela ho" from Nau do gyaarah, you will realise why MDS started flocking to Asha. I had read some time ago that Kanu Roy was her brother - is that true?

Too bad we never did hear a lot of him in Hindi movies (what we have are gems though) - was he prolific on the Bangla music scene?

Will wait for a Bengali to answer the question about Kanu Roy. Sangeeta, have you heard "tum jo huey mere hamsafar, raste badal gaye" - a Rafi/Geeta duet?
