'Tell, bhabhi.' Chottu pleaded.
Sandhya could feel Suraj's gaze on her. What would she tell?
When she was about to answer, she heard someone scream for help. She immediately looked back to see a house on fire. She could spot a lady with her daughter in her hands inside the house and crying for help. If she couldn't become an IPS officer, this was the least she could do-save someone's life. She moved forward to run into that house to save the woman. But someone held her hand.
'I will go. You please stay here.' Suraj said.
'Chottu, take care of bhabhi.' Chottu just shook his head and Suraj ran into the house.
This only infuriated Sandhya. She was capable of saving that lady and also taking care of herself. She was no kid.
The woman and her daughter soon came out. After that, the house gave a big fire blow. Sandhya stood there in shock. Where was Suraj?
'Chottu, you're Su..Suraj bhaiyya.' asked Sandhya with a questioning look on her face.
'Bhabhi, you stay here. I will go ask the people there what happened.' Having said that, Chottu ran.
In a minute, Chottu came running back.
'What happened Chottu? What happened?' Sandhya could hear her own impatience in her voice.
'That bhabhi, after that fire blow, no..no one else could es..escape.' Chottu started crying.
She bent down on her knees with her hands covering her face. This was it. No Suraj anymore? All that she could see now was Suraj's smiling face which was slowly fading away.
