when indra's mother first met rishi, she commented on his light eye color & i found it very funny. first off i want to say that this serial is the most realistic and true depiction of struggling middle class families, and the overall nuances of the show & actions are very enjoyable to watch as well.
so, back to rishi's lovely eyes - i found the comment funny because i actually have a family member whose eyes are light (not a dark hazel many desis could have in variation to brown) but more green & she happens to also be slightly crafty (for various reasons). so everyone always says "well isnt it obvious she's done (enter problem) ... look at her light eyes." (i think this judging of character based on eye color is due to british colonial rule ... & has transcended over time as a symbol of evasiveness and untrustworthy attributes.) it's quite silly but its still a passing judgement people make today - so i enjoyed this comment (despite it being baseless) because even social realism can be nicely depicted & not be shown as some excessive case of jadoo mantra belief..
