Pankaj Udhas is a singer of rare caliber, with a soft-suave soul stirring voice and the ghazals and geets that touch your heart. And among his many achievements of his singing career, here is another addition. Pankaj Udhas has been awarded with Padma Shri. He has infused many varieties in his song but his singing style has been patent throughout and this makes him special. He has just completed 25 years of ghazal singing and what an honor to earmark his career on the silver jubilee celebration.

He was talking to his dear friend Akash when he heard the news. He was so surprised and happy that he didn't know how to react initially. Slowly the news started sinking in. His wife Farida was more happy and proud of the achievements of her husband. His children were also very excited and Pankaj Udhas mentions that seeing all happy, it added to his joy. Ever since the announcement was made people have been calling him from all over to congratulate him. Though seeing his great career record the award has reached him a little late, he doesn't have anything against it.

Pankaj Udhas being pleased with the achievements is looking forward to do more in the realm of ghazal. He is looking forward to promote this genre of music all over the place by attracting more young audience and also by giving chance to young singers.
