Vikram- Smart or Stupid

I was just wondering...
He got high paying job, he is in debt, but he chooses to continue to work for Ram! Ram is obviously not paying him good.. otherwise why he would be in debts in first place. Its not like he is a gambler or something..

Sid asks him to get necklace from Safe and keep in his pocket for "Safekeeping". And he does that!!!
Yes after mild resentment.. but seriously, he knows Sid. Wouldn't he question this move. Moreover, why would someone transfer necklace from safe to pocket for safekeeping ??/

When Niharaika announced that the necklace is missing and went to get another one why didn't he immediately go and tell you gave it to me.. but it is missing..

Definitely STUPID... not Vikram, but the writers... Vikram is just enacting what he is told to... A smart person like Vikram, who takes care of such a large business empire is not even able to understand the evil intensions of Sid and co..and agreed to safeguard the necklace in his pocket... So his pocket is safer than the safe-locker?  And above all he didn't even discuss this at least with his best friend Ram.
