Thank you for continuing on this journey down the memory lane...
I walk some more amid beds of yellows and gold
and I find myself in
I think of times shared with my mom...
those cozy picnics down from our home.
that special maple and mighty oak
counting the leaves as they shook..
picking that special one and tucking it in my special magic book
I sat down by stream to enjoy the sun..
oh my rain from where did you come
I run back home tucking my muffler tight..
I love the cold rain hindering my flight...
I take cover under that fire tree
and there I sit and write in my special book..
so friends...
and share with us your best autumn memories..
any poems or special walks...
a poem by my close friend skeptical
taking from page 5 of this thread..
I watched every picture and saw every scene
I wondered at the beauty that I have never seen.
Every maple leaf that shines reflects the sun's rays
I could sit by this riverside for an hour and a day.
The red gold and yellow are colours of the fire
Yet they seem to gently sooth like music from the lyre.
What a riot of colours! What wondrous glory!
Seems like each leaf will tell its own special story.
I could listen to each one and not care for the cold
Eagerly would listen to every tale that they told.
The earth shows its splendour through the warm hue
A marvelous canvas it does paint so bewitching and true.
The swallows and the geese get ready to leave the land
To warmer places far away - to the silver sands.
The ache in my heart fades as I watch the river
So ethereal and silent, you're locked in time forever.
