She was one of the scientists from NASA who went on mission STS-107 in the space in space shuttle columbia. She was born in Karnal, Punjab (now it is in Haryana). Unfortunately she lost her life while coming back into the earth's atmosphere. Other scientists who accompanied her also lost their life.😔
