Written Update May 18, 2011

Yogesh plans to leave for work. His mother asks him to visit Mota Bha at the election. He tells his mom that he has to work and doesn't have the time to go just to please Mota Bha. Reva hears this and is shocked. His mother says that relationships are equally important and they need to be supportive, else Mota Bha will feel bad. Yogesh tells her that he has never taken credit for being Mota Bha's son-in-law, and there are more cons than pros to being a well-known man's son-in-law. He looks at Reva while saying the last part and she has tears in her eyes. He continues telling his mom that people taunt him for being Mota Bha's SIL, if he wears good clothes they think it is from Mota Bha, Yogesh no longer has his own identity and has started falling in his own eyes. He refuses to take food and leaves. Reva weeps and runs into her room. Gulaal's mother consoles her and blames Yogesh's anger, she tells her that Yogesh's father will go there after work, when times are bad everybody looks bad, Yogesh is going through a bad patch hence his behavior.

Gulaal stands up honored and overwhelmed, she tells everyone that she doesn't know how to thank everyone for the honor, but she doesn't think she can bear the responsibility. Mota Bha insists that she can, this is the result of her hard work. Gulaal says that nothing can be more honorable that she take the place of Mota Bha, everything she has done to date was for the good of the village, she has no desire to become the Head, someone else deserves to do this, she was just the guide, someone else walked that way and did the work, so that person deserves more than her to become Head. She apologizes to Mota Bha and pleads that the honor should be given to someone who has been supporting Mota Bha and spent years selflessly working for the village's good. Everyone is surprised. Gulaal takes Dushyant's name. Mota Bha and Dayi Baa are surprised, Kesar gets angry and looks to and fro from Dushyant to Gulaal. Gulaal smiles in encouragement to Dushyant, he nods "No". Kesar opposes but Gulaal insists. Dushyant says it was his duty and did it because Mota Bha asked him to, he doesn't need anything more. He says that Mota Bha will decide, and everyone knows that nobody can fulfill this role more than Gulaal, Mota Bha will be the guide, and he (Dushyant) will like always walk side by side with her and support her fully. Kesar hears this and does not like it and glares at Dushyant. Mota Bha's brother supports Mota Bha's decision. Gulaal asks Mota Bha to put his worry for Gulaal aside and think with a clear mind whether she is right, Kesar continues remaining anger. Mota Bha supports Gulaal and says that she is right, Dushyant will continue to do good but by being the Head. Kesar looks at Gulaal and is fuming to see her support Dushyant, when Mota Bha announces that Dushyant will become Head, Kesar looks at him in shock, he turns to see Gulaal smiling and flashbacks to Durgesh's hinting at Gulaal's relationship with Dushyant her husband's killer. Kesar has tears in his eyes and is not able to control himself, he leaves on his bike. Gulaal looks on surprised. The moderator tells everyone that they are free to stand against Dushyant in the election, the villagers say they are happy to have Dushyant as their Head, the moderator announces that Dushyant is the Head now.

Dushyant steps forward when a car comes there, Raman steps out. Everyone is happy to see Raman, when Durgesh steps out on the other side everyone's smile fades. Mota Bha flashbacks to Durgesh's coloring his face black and is angry. Durgesh eggs Raman on and both walk towards the crowd. Dushyant flashbacks to Durgesh's telling him that if Kesar comes after him he will not hesitate in losing his men to go after him. The villagers run towards Durgesh to hurt him but Durgesh's men stop them. Cops arrive and separate the men. Mota Bha's brother yells that the cops will not be able to do anything, today Durgesh will not leave alive. The cop asks Mota Bha to stop the men else he will have to open fire. Mota Bha yells for the men to stop, he tells the cop that every single life is precious in the village. He tells Durgesh that he has not changed his habit of putting others lives at risk for his own selfish motive, if Durgesh had any guts he would have come like a man instead of bringing cops. Durgesh says that he has not come to fight with anyone, he is upset with his behavior of insulting Mota Bha in the past, he has come here with Raman to repent for his actions. Durgesh asks Raman why nobody is happy seeing him (Raman) here, maybe their hatred for Durgesh is higher than love for Raman. Raman takes his father and Mota Bha's blessings. Gulaal and Dushyant smile seeing this. Raman says he is here whether anyone is happy or not, Dushyant says that they are all happy seeing him and hugs Raman. Dushyant tells him that he had gone last week to meet Raman but Raman refused to meet him, the cops didn't tell him that Raman would be out soon. Durgesh says that maybe they did not want Raman to be freed, Durgesh wanted him to be free and now he is. Dushyant asks him not to interfere in their family matters. Raman tells him that he understands the meaning of family, what his family was not able to do Durgesh did. Mota Bha tells him that they were worried about him and he is getting influenced by Durgesh. Durgesh asks Raman not to fight for him. Durgesh tells everyone that he hopes they did not get late, Raman wanted to stand in the election as well. Everyone is shocked.

Precap: Dushyant tells Jamna that everyone wants him to be Head but he doesn't want to. Jamna demands to know why, this is his right and he will not remove his name. Dushyant yells that he doesn't want to go against his own brother, Raman has returned after so many years and he doesn't want to fight with him. Gulaal tears up a little, Mota Bha is surprised, Jamna also tears up but seems like she is proud of Dushyant, Sudha is shocked.
