Stars of Indian soap to perform in SA

Mar 26, 2011 4:05 PM | By OWN CORRESPONDENT

Popular Indian soapie stars Sushant Singh and Ankita Lokhande are headed for South Africa.

The actors who, play Manav and Archana in the award-winning television serial Pavitra Rishta - which is broadcast on Zee TV - will appear with Indian playback singer and stage artist Kunal Ganjawala.

The concert, organised by Showtime SA (ST) and the SHM Group of companies of Johannesburg, will be staged in Johannesburg and Durban in July.

ST's Mike Narsey said they were "thrilled" to be hosting the show featuring the "biggest names in Indian day-time soaps" together with an artist of Ganjawala's calibre.

Narsey said their research had shown that the serial's main actors were very popular in SA.

Both actors have just concluded filming a dance show for television, while Singh has also participated in a reality dance show with a host of other Indian television actors.

Ganjawala will be returning to South Africa after five years.

He started his Bollywood singing career in 1995 and released his own pop album, Channa Vey, in 2004.

Narsey said: "We believe the industry tries to ensure that the family element is maintained."

The artists have already performed in concerts in the USA, the UK, Australia, the Middle East and the West Indies.

ya,  the new zealand vacation is still pending . guess that requires a lot more planning .. it wont be easy for them to take 5-6 days off from PR  shoot ..

But this trip to SA is like a free vacation for them ... all expenses paid trip..
lol.. they are actually going to get paid for dancing with each other in SA..

Wow wow wow... South Africa... 😍

This is so cool man... they will be making moolah, they will get a nice all expenses paid luxury trip, they can tour South Africa for free, break from PR, and all they have to do is dance-- Dancing is something they enjoy so much that they are forever ready to do it anyway..!!!

So basically, they will get paid for having fun!!! 😎 Life ho to aisi!!!

They deserve every bit of what they are getting- they have worked hard and its so nice to see them getting invited for international concerts and getting recognised not only for their acting and characters, but also for their dancing... yeah go Sushita... rock it!!! I hope they have a lot of fun in SA!
