I think originally :

Karan's track would have go on and would have become permanant character in Bidaai.

Both pregnancy track were to run simultaneously with Karan track,

Karan track would have ended and deliveries and Sadhana's death tack

Then the 7 year leap to show the khushi and Tamanna and to show the personalities of both and how Tamanna nurtured insecurity because of Khushi.

Then another leap of 10 yrs with Khushi and Tamanna being focus.

But as Karan track was not as recieved as expected and also because of Nayee soch of SP, 7 yr leap was decided earlier than expected.But Kinshuk as he said earlier was not mentally prepared for it and but he had no problems with playing dad to 7 year olds, but he was not convinced with the post leap story/track as he didn't have much scope in it.All parties involved tried to come up something interesting for him in post leap track(remember Ranvir taking pic of Sleeping Ragini-Tamanna,why was it shown) but to no use, so he and RS parted amicably in Bidaai on good terms. Though Kinshuk was asked to keep quite till Ranvir's death and reason was shown for trps sake.
