Dev is in his room while NT is reading a magazine.
Dev: pata hai naintara… bro aaj kal badal gaye hai.. can you believe this.. aaj wo mere paas aye the… ladki ke liye date plan karne ke liye…
NT: aur aapne muft main unko advice de bhi di hogi… aap itne bade play boy jo tehre …
. Dev goes and hugs her from behind….
Dev: haan.. lekin wo sab tumse milne se pehle.. ab to I am an one woman man… btw… tum bina gehno ke zyada acchi lagti ho … yeh kitne bhaari hai...
NT: haan, jaise wo Geet lag rahi thi… jab hum ne aap dono ko range haath pakad lia tha…
Dev: alright…. I am not having this discussion with you today Nainatara.. main already bahut thak gaya hoon…
As Dev walks out of there really annoyed…
In the meanwhile..
Geet cant find Maan anywhere.. she has tried calling him several times but his number is out of calling area… She decides to go find out from dadi if she knows where Maan is! She is walking towards dadi's room and Dev also is walking towards the room. You think they would now bump into one another, but just then NT calls up Dev and says…
NT: Dev, hume please maaf kar dee jiye.. humne kuch zyada hi bol dia.. ek kaam kare… moon light walk pe chale?
Dev: sure darling… I am coming right away…
A worried Geet goes to dadi and asks her where Maan is..dadi tells her she hasn't seen him or heard from him since morning.
Geet: office main hi honge dadima…. aap pareshaan mat ho.. maine to bass iss liye pooch rahi thi.. kyunki mujhe unse thoda kaam tha…
Dadi: sahibzade to kam se fursat miley tab wo ghar ayenge… waise .. aaj kal wo jaldi ghar aa jaate hai… pata nahi aaj kahan phas gaye…
Dev and NT are sitting in the car… and Dev tells her.. they should drive off somewhere instead of walking around there itself. They leave.. and Geet also goes back to the outhouse…
Sitting in her room she looks at her tummy and says… " main aaj maan sir ko sab bata doongi… agar maine yeh saari baatein aur chupayi to problems aur badh sakti hai.. aur fir wo mujh pe itna bharosa karte hai…aur fir maine to unhe already bata dia hai.. ke… Gurvinder mere dost ka pati hai … hai na? lekin yeh maan sir toh gayad hi ho gaye..!
Just then … she gets a call from an unknown number.. she takes it…
Geet: Hello…
Gur: Geet … main gurvinder… abhi abhi maine … usko dekha…
Geet: kisko…
Gur: Dev ko…
Geet freezes… "kya?"
Gur: haan…
Geet: kahan? Kaise?
Gur: main yaha chai pee raha tha.. aur wo gaadi main they.. unke saath koi ladki thi….
Geet: tum kahan pe ho Gurvinder…
The phone line goes dead….
Geet tries calling back but she cant… she gets totally restless… she doesn't know what to do.. this piece of news is enough for her to get all restless…. She cant sleep.. she tries Maan's number once more.. but it is unreachable like before.. she walks up and down.. she is sweating.. she is worried… why did all these things have to happen when Maan was not around…
Geet: kahin ye fir se abroad to chale nahi gaye? Arey.. nahi nahi geet.. maan sir, tumhe bataye bagair aise nahi jayenge.. ab to tu.. unke life main kitni important hai… haina?
She doesn't realize when she is all droopy and has fallen asleep…
At about 3 in the morning…. there is a phone call… she is scared.. she wonders if it is from Gurvinder again… she takes it..
Maan: Geet… main Maan bol raha hoon…
Geet: sir aap kahan chale gaye the.. main tab se…
Maan: Geet .. chup chaap neeche aa jao.. main tumhara intezaar kar raha hoon… outhouse ke bahar…
Geet: sir iss waqt…
Maan: koi sawal mat karo Geet.. bas neeche aa jao bas…
Geet wears her chappals … manages to find her dupatta and runs down… as soon as she see's Maan as an instant reaction she goes and hugs him.. as though she wanted him around all along.. which she anyway did…. Maan realizes she has been worried… He softly caresses her face and says…
Maan: agar tumne meri itni aadat daal li.. toh bahut problem ho jayegi Geet… kisi din agar main kahin door…
Geet shuts his mouth with her fingers and says… "aisa kabhi nahi hoga…"
She turns away and says… "ek toh aap din bhar ke liye gayab ho jaate hai.. aur uspe… aisi baatein….
Maan: geet mere saath bahar chalogi?
Geet (blushes) : iss waqt….?
Maan: haan? Iss waqt main kya burayi hai?
Geet: lekin maine kaise kapte pehene hai?
Maan: koi baat nahi… ab chalo.. issey pehle ki subah ho jaye….
Both Maan and Geet get into the car and they are about to drive out.. they are so lost in each other, that they fail to notice another car come inside… Dev notices that Maan is going out…
NT: I think unke saath koi ladki thi…
Dev: not bad! Bro ke saath iss waqt ladki…
Nt: aapke bhai jitney seedhey dikhte hai na.. utne hai nahi…
Dev: naintara main apne bhai ke bare main kuch nahi sunna chahta..
NT: whatever….
In the meanwhile… Maan drives for a while…
Geet: hum jaa kahan rahe hai?
Maan: abhi thodi der main pata lag jayega…
Since the drive takes a while.. Geet falls asleep… with her hair flying on her face and maan tenderly pushes the strand away… she is about to fall when he balances her… they finally reach a place…and he stops the car… she is so blissfully sleeping he doesn't want to wake her up. He smiles looking at her. Slowly opens the car door goes to the other side of the car, lifts her without disturbing her and takes her into a gate.
By the time geet wakes up the next morning, she is in the middle of a field and Maan is wearing the kurta she had gotten for him. A nice Punjabi breakfast is waiting for her. She is amidst a sweet little children playing around. It is like a farmhouse in the middle of the fields. Its all green. She for once gets a feeling she is back home.
Geet: sir hum kahan gaye hai?
Maan: khud chalke dekh lo…
Maan leads her into the small house, which like one of those in the villages with slate tiles and wooden pillars. There is a quadrangle in the middle. An elderly couple comes and asks her if everything is fine. Geet nods. She is very happy with the setting, she feels she is at home. The couple do everything for her. Even Maan is super accommodative taking care of everything she wants. He doesn't let her get up from her seat. Right from washing her hands to eating, to watching some kids dance and sing for her.. she feels the whole of Punjab has come alive in front of her.. she gets all emotional…
In a while when everyone around disperses and only Maan and Geet are around, Maan says…
Maan: tumhe apne ghar ki bahut yaad aa rahi thi na? toh maine socha ke…
Geet: maan sir… kyun rakhte hai aap mera itna khayal…
Maan: kyunki tumhari khushi se badkar mere liye aur kuch nahi hai geet ( in that soft sexy voice he has been using lately …aah main toh fide hoon uss tone pe….)
Geet starts crying… like a little kid..
Maan: kya hua Geet?
Her crying turns comical now… as she says…
Geet: aaj tak mere liye kisine itna nahi kia… mujhe darr lag raha hai… kahin kuch….
Maan: kuch nahi hoga…please ab rona band karo…
He slowly wipes her tears off as he kisses each eye… he holds her face in his palms and says…
Maan: mujhse ek waada karogi Geet?
Geet: hmm?
Maan: aaj ke baad tum kabhi nahi rogi…agar tumne roya to main sochunga ke wo meri wajah se hai.. aur main tumhe khush nahi rakh paa raha hoon… aur Maan Singh Khurana ke liye isse beizzati wali baat nahi hogi…
Geet: aap humesha … uss teesre insaan ko humare beech kyun late hai… abhi main sirf aap ke saath rehna chahti hoon…dekhiye na… kitni shanti hai yahan pe.. aur kitna sukoon… uss shehar ki bheed aur shor se …door… agar mujhe rehna hai.. to bas.. yehin rehna hai…
Maan: akele?
Geet: (with a naughty smile) .. haan akele…
Maan makes a face… "accha… maine tumhare liye ye sab kiya… take tum yahan akeli reh sako.. theek hai.. raho akeli… main jaa raha hoon… waapis khud aa jaana…
Maan walks away from there… Geet at first thinks he is joking.. she says…
Geet: haan haan.. jayiye.. main akeli reh loongi… mujhe aapki koi zaroorat nahi hai….( hoping he would make a face or yell at her.. )
But as a few seconds pass… there is no Maan anywhere… she calls out his name.. Maan sir… Maan sir.. aap kahan ho…
There is no response.. She goes into the house.. there is no one.. suddenly all of it doesn't look as colorful or as beautiful as it seemed… all she can think of his her mother crying.. her darji hitting her… as she comes out.. she see's Brij barging towards her with a sword in his hand.... she gets really worried and scared.. she starts running in all directions looking for Maan who is no where to be seen…. She starts sweating.. in the middle of the field.. she falls down on her knees .. and starts crying…
Maan who uptil now thinks he has been teasing her.. doesn't know she had gone through all of this.. comes there to see her, but realizes .. she has been crying.. horribly.. the slight worry is replaced by pain and horror…
He is goes to her and puts his hand on her shoulder.. she turns around and hugs him tight … " aap kahan chale gaye the… pata hai.. wo sab… Brij veerji.. wahan.. (pointing towards the direction from where she had seen him…) Maan looks around, the place is as peaceful as it had been before…
Maan: geet yahan koi nahi hai…
Geet: nahi.. wo fir se aa jayenge… aur aap bhi nahi the…
Maan now begins to wonder if this whole idea of bringing her here was not as great as he had thought after all… He tightens his grip over her and says…
Maan: Geet…!! Meri aankhon main dekho.. yahan koi nahi hai.. sirf hum dono hai…
Geet feebly looks up…"magar… wahan…
Maan: koi nahi hai Geet… chalo.. main tumhe ghar le chalta hoon…
He carries her in his arms and takes her back with him and makes her sit in the car. Geet is dazed… Maan gets into the car and starts driving. Throughout the journey back both of them are quiet… there is not a single exchange of either looks or a word… Geet gets down from the car and goes back into her room as Maan goes back to his house…
Maan in his room thinks to himself… "yeh maine kya kar dia… kya plan kia tha maine .. aur kya hogaya…bechari Geet… kitni darr gayi thi…
Meanwhile Geet in her room…
Geet: lagta hai.. maine bahut over react kia.. achanak se apneaap ko akela paake .. mujhe aise lagne laga jaise .. main fir se wahin pahunch gayi hoon…
Maan in his room…
Maan: mujhe Geet ko wahan nahi le jaana chahiye tha..
Geet:
Maan sir ne mere liye itna kuch kia… mujhe ye sab nahi karna chahiye tha…
Maan:
Dekha nahi Maan geet kitni darr gayi thi.. usko uske ateet ke bare main tumhe yaad nahi dilana chahiye tha…
Geet:
Mujhe Maan sir se milna hai…
Maan:
Mujhe Geet se milna hai…
Both of them start running towards their respective homes…
Maan reaches the outhouse…
Geet reaches the haveli…
Both of them are not there … both of them are disappointed….
Finally Geet starts walking towards the garden… Maan also starts walking towards the garden. See's this flower and plucks it… and looks sadly at it.. when he see's a disappointed Geet sitting there …
Maan: geet ( he calls out)
Geet see's Maan and comes running towards him hugging him instantly…
Both of them break the hug.. holding each others hands looking into their eyes…
Maan and Geet( at the same time) : I am sorry!
Maan and geet again: mujhe aise…
Both of them smile…
Maan: accha tum pehle bolo…
Geet: nahi aap…
Maan: Geet….!
Geet: sir.. .. aapne mere liye itna kuch kia aur main … kaise kaise baatein leke baith gayi… please mujhe maaf kardo… ( she looks away feeling guilty for having ruined it all)
Maan makes her turn towards him and looks into her eyes and says…
Maan: ab meri baat suno… mujhe tumhe wahan nahi le jaana chahiye tha…
Geet: nahi sir.. mujhe wahan sab accha laga.. sab perfect tha..
Maan: fir tum inta darr kyun gayi…
Geet: kyunki aap mere saath nahi the… main darr gayi thi.. ( mahi plays in the background)
Maan: inta pyar karti ho mujhse ….
Geet doesn't say anything…
He envelops her in his arms .. and says… " aaj ke baad, main tumhe chodke kahin nahi jaunga… mazak main bhi nahi…."
Niha's note: guys.. I wanted to put another scene… but I don't want to ruin the feel or the moment…that's why I will leave this here… hope you enjoy reading it as much I enjoyed writing it.. !!
