I think thsi scene is very important if the leap has to take place.

think about it. the only person consistently getting these two together is D baba. So if he lives then these two cannot go their seperate ways. So their relationship has to be severed with his death.

Also, remember he took Archu's kasam that if she goes through with the divorce he will drink himself to death. so that prediction has to come through. apparently Ekta gives all man's promise more important than Bappa's desires or blessings
